First time I ever fell asleep in a movie theatre.... to make a long story short. Hmm Years later I saw it on cable and remembered why I fell asleep. Pretentious garbage. The book was far better.

It really is a boring film. But it was beautifully shot. I've only ever seen the Redux version, so maybe the original version was less boring?
I'd nominate it in these two categories and have it win both: Best Cinematography Best Supporting Actor - Frederic Forrest
1979 was a weak year for film, so I'd probably also nominate it for Best Picture and Best Director.
