Obviously, there is Roy's final scene in Blade Runner. There's also a scene in Back to the Future, not long after hearing Uncle Joey didn't make parole again, where Lorraine talks about kissing George for the first time and wanting to spend the rest of her life with him. Lea Thompson's delivery really nails the sense of unhappiness.

"Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" Recently after having his 1973 Ford Falcon GT flipped (this is a really cool car if you're into that), a recently bulletproof Max was critically injured. The perpetrators were close behind and went to investigate the wreckage. Max was stuck, but his fearless friend, 'Dog' came out to try and scare off the intruders. He didn't make it, but he died standing up for Max. That one hits me hard as I've raised and broken blue heelers (Australian Cattle Dogs), like 'Dog,' for most of my life. The one sitting under my desk right now would have done the same thing if we flipped our Falcon. These dogs are ridiculously tough. They tend to pick one caregiver as their 'leader.' Mine does not take my wife seriously (cracks me up on the daily). It is like a Han and Chewie relationship. So to see 'Dog' jump out and try to fight an army to protect Max...gets me everytime.

There is a dog theme here, but in an otherwise by-the-numbers horror sequel, "The Fly 2," there is a scene between Martin (Eric Stolz) and the dog he grew up with and thought was dead, but was actually living in observation after a horrible mutation . The sound designer and puppeteers knocked it out of the park.

Non dog-related.
"Ray" had several great moments, but I teared up when his mother explained to him that he'd be blind soon. I believe his blindness set in at 6 years old. His mother explained it to him in the perfect combination of 'real', comforting, and insipiring (don't let this hold you back).
I can't imagine how I'd explain this to my child.

One more, (Gene Wilder's) Willy Wonka's detached face after the final bridge of "Pure Imagination" shortly after the guests are allowed to run loose in the factory. Throughout the tune, Wonka demonstrates some childishness, but in this particular part of the tune, he seems detached from everyone else in the room and almost unable to enjoy what he's created. I got the feeling he more enjoyed the creating than the creation.
Jump in at about 3 minutes in. The short interlude where he removes his hat and walks down to the bench. It's unbelievable.
Also, if you like this song, check out Low Rawls absolutely nailing it!
