@thegodfather You actually guessed right. but I decided to dump it along with a small amount of other movies to raise my moral standards a little. I don't expect a non-Christian to understand that though. so technically, the last time I re-watched it (Dec 25th 2016 (which was my 3rd viewing in total)), it was still 7/10 status (it did drop from a solid 8/10 back to a 7/10 at this time though). but given what I said above it's one of a small amount of movies I dumped.
p.s. in fact, I used to think Goodfellas was top notch for years until a re-watch in May 2015 when it went from a 10/10 back to a 5/10. even Casino dropped some for me (9/10 to a 7.5-8/10 in March 2015 (and held steady on a re-watch in Jan 2019)) but it's still solid and among my favorite movies.

I like The Wolf of Wall Street, but it isn't on the same level as Goodfellas and Casino.

As a Christian I do understand. You have conviction of the Holy Spirit and I commend you for that. I just meant as a film, I'm judging it on it's quality. Acting, directing, etc... I don't rewatch it over and over for your exact reason.

Not only is mslo undermining the moral values of anybody who is not a Christian, but he is also insulting their intelligence. Anybody who has even a basic understanding of religion in general would understand it.

Haven’t brought myself to watch Wolf of Wall Street fully.
I go back and forth with Goodfellas and Casino. I think ultimately Goodfellas has more memorable scenes for me. And I’ve historically given that one the edge so...
Goodfellas Casino

I have no real preference between Goodfellas and Casino. They're both solid 10s in my book.
n/s Wolf of Wall Street.

@thegodfather someone who gets the gist of it In that regard... sure, it's solid. but in general, like I imagine you have seen me say before... movies are ultimately made or broke for me based on whether I re-watch them from time-to-time or not as that determines my basic... 5/10 or less = Thumbs Down. 6/10 or higher = Thumbs Up. but The Wolf of Wall Street, along with some other movies etc, I just had to let go for moral reasons (in fact, there is still likely a bit more (about a handful of things) I am likely going to dump that I currently score a 7 or higher). moviemouthYour taking it the wrong way unlike thegodfather who gets it. try not to take things too negativity in general. I think being offended by what I said is some sort of pride thing. just let it go. I did not mean anything personal or that I was looking down on others etc. we are all sinners, I am just trying to make a little progress here and there is all and this is a (small) step in the right direction as it's pretty safe to say some movies are trash and would be better off not being seen by people in general (like some I dumped are definitely worse than The Wolf of Wall Street to (but I am not going to bother naming them as it's not worth drawing attention to them)). but many just won't get this is all (sure they might get the concept but it just does not register for them personally) because many in today's world tend to be godless and go with the flow of the world which is often contrary to Jesus Christ and won't see anything wrong with it etc. either way, Christian morality is objective morality since it's based around God (i.e. The Holy Trinity (Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)) as anything that opposes His morality, is simply wrong. because once you remove God from moral decisions then things become too subjective and people make things up as they go along and you can see how that's turning out in the world right now (i.e. it's often contrary to God) which is not surprising since people are inclined towards sin after the fall of Adam/Eve and without God, people will inevitably make wrong choices and sometimes really bad choices.

I am not going to get into a pointless argument with you. You believe it is objective truth, I don't. I don't like talking about religion with people like you, because it infuriates me. I was raised Catholic. I went to church for years, I read the Bible and I came to the belief that it isn't real. That is MY truth. You will just have to accept that. If I found out for an absolute fact that everything in the Bible is true. I would lose my grip on reality completely and completely shut down. It's as simple as that. I believe it is possible there is a God, but just possible that there isn't. I prefer not to know. I will not read anymore replies from you that involve religion, and yes, I am aware I kind of brought this on myself by responding to you in the first place. It was a knee-jerk reaction. Which movies are trash is subjective, unless you are extremely religious. I thin everyone should watch Goodfellas, Casino and The Wolf of Wall Street. They are not promoting sin imo, they are simply showing that sin is a part of life. The audience is suppose to be sickened by the actions of the characters in those movies and they actually work as a message to me to not be a bad person. His movies are anti-sin, not pro-sin.
