As a Christian I do understand. You have conviction of the Holy Spirit and I commend you for that.

someone who gets the gist of it

I just meant as a film, I'm judging it on it's quality. Acting, directing, etc... I don't rewatch it over and over for your exact reason.
but in general, like I imagine you have seen me say before... movies are ultimately made or broke for me based on whether I re-watch them from time-to-time or not as that determines my basic... 5/10 or less = Thumbs Down. 6/10 or higher = Thumbs Up. but The Wolf of Wall Street, along with some other movies etc, I just had to let go for moral reasons (in fact, there is still likely a bit more (about a handful of things) I am likely going to dump that I currently score a 7 or higher).

you[thegodfather] were much nicer about that than I would have been.
Not only is mslo undermining the moral values of anybody who is not a Christian, but he is also insulting their intelligence. Anybody who has even a basic understanding of religion in general would understand it.

either way, Christian morality is objective morality since it's based around God (i.e. The Holy Trinity (Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)) as anything that opposes His morality, is simply wrong. because once you remove God from moral decisions then things become too subjective and people make things up as they go along and you can see how that's turning out in the world right now (i.e. it's often contrary to God) which is not surprising since people are inclined towards sin after the fall of Adam/Eve and without God, people will inevitably make wrong choices and sometimes really bad choices.
Yet, most of that only applies if you believe in God.
I think you have an impossible time understanding people who don't believe in God, which makes it hard for any room to talk because you will just say I am objectively wrong. Yes, you believe that but it makes any discussion on the subject impossible. Most people who are religious have doubts. In fact, I got my Mom and Dad to admit that they don't know for sure, it is just faith and belief. My Mother specifically needs to believe in God in order to feel her life has meaning and she has admitted she doesn't even like to even entertain the idea that their isn't a God because that would take away the meaning in her life. That is what I call lying to yourself in order to be happy. That is fine, but it is what it is.
With you it is something different.
