I've noticed that certain films on DVD/Blu-ray, particularly older ones like Scarface and The Terminator, have had the original gun sounds/explosions replaced with more modern-sounding gun sounds/explosions.
Anybody know why this happens? Is it something that is just part of the remastering as the picture quality gets remastered?

For the Terminator, it's pretty noticeable when Arnie kills the first Sarah Connor. The .45 he uses sounds like a silencer is attached.

For the Terminator, it's pretty noticeable when Arnie kills the first Sarah Connor. The .45 he uses sounds like a silencer is attached. Congrats on joining the Elite!  I think a similar sound occurs when Arnold fires that tiny handgun at the truck before Sarah swipes him off the side.
