With 90 seconds of added time left, and the game scoreless, Man City's Demi Stokes' cross into the area was way off target and going into touch for a CFC goal-kick. Keeper Ann-Katrin Berger can see it's going out but is then jolted into reaction as she sees defender Magdalena Eriksson inexplicably intercept the wayward ball and divert it unstoppably past her own keeper and into the goal, gifting City a place in the FA Cup Final. Look at Eriksson, she is in turmoil. For a good while into the future she will be asking herself "Why didn't I just leave it? Why did I interfere with it?" Man City will play West Ham at Wembley in the final on 4th May at 5.30pm. What a day out for the two teams, what a venue. And that's the killer for Eriksson. No Wembley, no cup final, no day out, not for her, not for her teammates. That's why after self-potting she rolls over onto her stomach like the ground might consume her utter despair and turn time back ten seconds. Last minute CFC own goal puts City through to Wembley Final

She deserves a medal for saving people the torture of extra time. I thought you were watching the Scottish semi-final. Are you seriously saying you watched the whole women's semi-final?

A "good" 30 minutes. I don't have Premier Sports so I couldn't see the Celtic match at home (although I saw a bit of the first half in the pub.) Anyway, almost all of the women's match took place after the Celtic game had finished.

Sigh, I can understand the equality of supporting the women's game and the desperate wish to not be seem to be un-inclusive (hence the sudden influx of women appearing on every football match giving their opinion) but, we need to be honest, the standard is bloody terrible. Could the England women's team provide a more entertaining match than a tier 8 non league match could? I honestly doubt it. Will we see tier 8 on prime time TV? I doubt it. Should we have under 11's football on as well as we are being unfair and insulting the quality of children's football if we don't and damaging the growth of the youth game? If the audience is there then fair enough, I also believe women's football should only have women ex players commentating on it as men haven't played that level of the game so can't really be qualified to comment in an educated fashion on it. I just get the feeling all this comes down to playing lip service (which is actually insulting to women) to a hot issue and a desperation o be seen as "fair".

Sounds like I made the right decision to skip it on the day. Controversial idea, but I think the only way the standard of womens football improves is if each team is allowed to have 3 men in it. 1 goalkeeper, 1 defender and 1 midfielder.

Even the highlights suck. It is what it is though, but seriously, I will only watch the pointy end of the women’s World Cup with any great excitement.

The winning goal really sums up womens football. An awful own goal from a dreadful cross.

The main appeal of women's sports (and I am not an avid watcher) is you see some genuine athletes like Sam Kerr in soccer or Erin Phillips in AFLW running circles around everyone else and I find that type of single player domination fun to watch.
