For me:
Mission: Impossible, they all have something good to offer, honestly I can't pick a favorite.

for me, it's a three way tie for my #1 spot with the 1st/3rd/5th. the 4th is behind those three and in last place is the 2nd movie which is the only one i no longer like.

Alien
It's really only a choice between the first two but they're both excellent for their genre.

Mission Impossible flicks are godawful, with the latest installment possibly being the worst of them all. Simon Pegg's character is the human Jar Jar Binks, he just walks around bumping into things and making stupid faces and sound effects. In terms of story and execution, the first one is probably the best. But it's all downhill from there. That franchise can't decide if it wants to take itself seriously or spoof the genre.

I bashed the movie, sure. I don't think less of you for enjoying it. I guarantee I like movies that you find terrible, and I'm not worried about how that affects your opinion of me. Relax.

I'd say the James Bond franchise. Sure there are a couple of real stinkers in the list, but there are so many great ones that it's tough to pick a favorite.

I'd say the James Bond franchise. Sure there are a couple of real stinkers in the list, but there are so many great ones that it's tough to pick a favorite. I don't have a problem picking a favorite Bond movie as while i like 14 out of the 25 Bond movies there is only seven of them amongst My Favorite Movies in general, and they are... 1.Skyfall (2012) - 8.5-9/10 2.Casino Royale (2006) 3.Licence to Kill (1989) - 8/10 4.Goldfinger (1964) - 7.5-8/10 5.Spectre (2015) 6.From Russia with Love (1963) - 7-7.5/10 7.Dr. No (1962) - 7/10 so as you can see, in terms of score, Skyfall and Casino Royale are tied but i can say i like Skyfall overall a little bit more as i feel it's paced better as Casino Royale never really hits it's stride til around the time Eva Green shows up which is about 55 min into the movie (actually she appears i think more around the 58min range). with that said... i imagine years ago it was a bit more challenging to list my favorites as i liked more of them to a higher degree than i do now but since quite a few have fallen off especially the Brosnan Bond movies as while they used to be amongst the stronger Bond movies for me i don't even like a single one of them now which is a little surprising as all of the other Bond actors have at least one movie i like, as you can see with these numbers... Connery is 5/7, Lazenby is 1/1, Moore 2/7, Dalton 2/2, Brosnan 0/4, Craig 4/4.

They are MUCH better than a lot of other high $$$ types of movies out there as not many can even challenge them if you ask me, especially franchise types of movies as the MI series manages to maintain a solid level of quality over quite a few movies which not many ongoing franchises can pull that off. only the second movie is the weak link as the rest are amongst My Favorite Movies which means they are all, excluding MI2, within my Top 199 movies at the least with the 1st/3rd/5th movies being within my Top 109 movies.

None really but it's funny that you mention Mission: Impossible because the first and the fifth are almost a tie but I give the edge to the original because of DePalma's style and the iconic motion detector scene.
