I try to see past your idiocy on many occasions and let it go. Wouldn't happen everytime. So don't restore a historically valuable architecture because you believe it is waste of money. It's obvious that you don't have idea how the economy works. But you have to stick with your stupid less educated and less informed stance because your shitty political views have messed up your mind or because you are full of ego.

Oh boy, that's an ugly turn that this discussion took... I think the money should be spent to restore the Cathedral. If it had been completely destroyed I might feel differently, but from what I understand the main body of the building is very much viable, so I am all for restoring it. Like you, I dislike the "either/or" idea that many people (on the left as well as on the right) have about spending money on projects like that. A country like France doesn't have to choose between restoring a major landmark and symbol of the country and feeding its poor; it can do both!Here in Quebec the state spends a certain amount of money subsidising the film industry. There are those (on the right) that get really mad about it; they think the money would be better spent paying off the debt or something, and if the local film industry can't support itself, then maybe it shouldn't exist. That kind of attitude pisses me off. The existence of local movies (even if they are not nearly as popular as Hollywood imports) is tremendously important to the culture of Quebec - not to mention that it keeps thousands of people employed.
