I mean that movie made 2 billion dollars so tons of people watched the trailer. It having the Marvel logo also helped.

Now the key to Venom 2's success is not cutting the hell out of it to get it down to 90 minutes.

Get ready for a certain somebody to say "Venom is the kind of movie Infinity War wishes it were, its badass, mature, and action packed no forced humor."

Justice League had a trailer in front of GotG 2, Ragnarok, and SM: Homecoming. Made less than Man of Steel.
I think people really were waiting for a Venom film like Deadpool. Sony was sitting on a pile of money it had no idea about. Supergirl in the vein of WW, an MCU X-Men film, the first Batman solo movie since Nolan, and anything with a comic-accurate Doctor Doom are all probably free money for the studios whenever they want to release them as well.

Justice League wasn’t a Marvel branded property though.

It wasn’t about whether it got a trailer in front of IW, it was because of the property itself.

So you're saying fans of marvel movies will mindlessly flock to any movie no matter how wretched as long as they see the words marvel comics on the trailer? Damn. I've known that was a fact for years but when marvel fans start admitting that fact it really hits home how sad that fan base is, huh?
