Paki meaning Pakistani doesn't have any negative connotations in Australia like it does in the UK.
Well that was certainly the case last time I checked, when Aussie TV billed cricket tests tours in Australia as The Pakis v The Aussies.

Aye, I edited out that mistake. Should have said the Baggy Greens.

In any case, considering that the player in question is part of Australia's national team, I am sure she will be traveling to the UK for one tournament or other in the near future, if she hasn't done so already. That will put the broadcasters in a pickle! What am I saying? It's women's Rugby Sevens. It probably won't get any TV attention.

It's a very accessible and entertaining version of rugby.

Oh, I agree. I caught some games at the Rio Olympics and loved it. If there is ever an international tournament here in Montreal, I will definitely buy tickets for it. Unfortunately the Canadian stop of the World Rugby Sevens Series (men's and women's) apparently always takes place all the way out on the west coast.
