This has been sitting on my DVR for a while; I just had zero motivation to watch this, especially with loads of episodes of Futurama and Archer that I've watched a dozen times already that could watch again instead. Even assuming flying cars do finally become a thing in the next 30 years, would we really be so pedantic as to call a taxi that can fly a "hover-taxi" instead of just.... a taxi? For that matter, will taxi's even still be around then or replaced by whatever the 2049 equivalent of Uber or Lyft will be? And would "Hoober" be too on the nose for the name of a Hoover Uber company? If not, I call dibs. I'm calling it now, the guy who passed Nora in the Flash Museum is Godspeed. So they visit a scientist who tells him that the stolen chemical can be combined with other chemicals, but until the thief steals those other chemicals, they won't know what they're planning to combine the first chemical with or what they're making. Isn't that how knowing and not knowing things generally works? What was the point of that conversation? Did he also inform them, to their astonishment, that water is wet? Oh, it was to conveniently put them in the next place to be hit right at the moment it's being robbed by Godspeed; who decides to take the extra effort to not only knock out the scientist, but stop and talk to Nora and her friend and blast some energy at them, rather than grabbing whatever he went there for and leaving. Does having super speed come with the trade off of being super dumb? Because that seems to be a common thread for all of the speedsters except Thawne, who for all we know was really that much smarter before getting his super speed and he is comparatively dumber than he would be without. Gee, I wonder if Nora's going to live or have any side effects to being struck by Godspeed's lightning? Wait, it's common knowledge that the Flash got his powers from lightning, but not who he is? So Nora's interaction with Thawne started off as some sort of Silence of the Lamb-esque interaction where she seeks his help to get into the mind of a like-minded criminal? How could that possibly not go badly?? Nora asks if the chip was one like those used to find lost animals, as if it was common to chip kids - which isn't a wild idea, but if it were used that way, why describe it as such? Shock, gaps, it was the guy from the museum! Really, Barry will feel Nora's presence in the (Speed) force.... if she travels back in time again? Because he didn't before. But also, Barry's apparently a Speed-Jedi now...

You know we watch too much of this crap if an extra getting a line of dialog shows the reveal too early like this did with Godspeed, also glad I wasn't the only one who thought it as t happened.
I do laugh at how when they show future stuff in shows like this they feel the need to clearly point out it's futuristicness or tie it in to our own modern day thing, like no it would be normalised for them by now, I ould call it a Huber not a Hoober or Hoover, btw it's Hover, Hoover's are vacuum cleaners, but Huber would make sense as it could easily be like other things where a brand name became the defacto name for something, you know if we do invent hover vehicles some one will call the Hover Uber company Huber to cash in on the name brand.
I forget in the scene about the chemicals did they atleast say those first 2 chemicals are key in making vast amounts of things? like saying how there is no way to tell what he could be making just based on those chemicals, as depending on how much he is using of each he could be making anything, I watched it a week ago and forgot so much so fast, like did they maybe atleast let Nora science an answer? or did she just stumble into the V9 realisation, like Godspped stole the 3rd chemical and it narrowed down the substances from 1000's to a few dozen and she realises he's making V9 because what else would a evil speedster be making, sadly I swear I recall her figuring it out because of the lightning which is like really? that's so lame anyone could have figured that shit out.
I liked why Barry was so hurt, that it's that she kept going to Thawne even after learning the truth, because that makes sense, he isn't blaming her for the mistakes she didn't know she was making but the mistakes she knew she was making, holding her accountable for her bad choice, not her foolishness, though I dunno if I like him just leaving her in the future like that.
Ok this is one thing that annoyed the fuck out of me, so Nora's entire time hopping BS is taking place within 1 hour in her time, so she's not a superhero in the future, she didn't get her powers 6 months ago and such, or did she and she was in the past for 6 months prior to her revealing herself? also how convenient that Godspeed appeared and kickstarted Nora's powers with a lightning blast in the mere days prior to RF being executed quite a coinkydink...Nora you dumb twat.
Now what will happen? Nora finds Iris to cry and apologise? maybe Nora takes Iris back to the past and old Nora slaps Barry silly for upsetting Nora, I kind of wish we maybe got that scene or you know a nicer one between old Iris & past/present Barry.

This. I could be wrong but I have a feeling Nora is going to end up doing something foolish now and it is going to be Barry's fault for leaving her in the future like that and she might end up helping the Reverse Flash escape and then they will have Eobard Thawne on the loose again and he will trick Nora into thinking she is going to help her and will try to kill her Father. After the confrontation we saw between Barry and Eobard near the end of the episode I think it is obvious they are going to face off again with each other this season and this will be the start of it. I personally think Barry was too harsh on Nora sending her back to the future like that and I am not defending her actions but I think there were better ways to handle the situation.

Not so much that, just sending her back because he doesn't trust her but leaving her with all her powers which we now know she's only had even more briefly than she claimed seems reckless, like had he said something like he considered taking her powers from her because of the choices she has made, but he doesn't think that's the right thing to do, he is choosing to believe in her, believe she can be the hero he thought she was could be, maybe have him say he doesn't know if they will ever see each other again not like this, but if they do he needs it to be on his terms, you know leave it open for her, don't leave her standing there like the lasting memory of her to her father is of this person he cannot stand to be around, let her believe in time he may forgive her, but he needs to make that choice, they are speedsters after all he can come see her if he wants, it felt too mean imo and stupid because we know she's emotionally vulnerable, she's an idiot to a very large degree, and yet she is a fucking speedster with RF still alive and fucking kicking...Barry mate WTF are you doing? recipe for disaster you braindead wank biscuit...atleast we know where Nora gets it from.

While typing "Hoover" is a typo, I stand by Hover Uber being Huber (Hoober) - looks like we might be rival flying share rider tycoons in 30 years.... Although I suppose "Lyft" will already have the advantage as the cars take the skies... I'm pretty sure when they went to ask the first scientist there had only been one chemical stolen at that point; because it was literally as they were leaving that Godspeed hit that lab and stole the second chemical. And that's what made the whole preceding part of the scene so stupid, because the scientist they met with wasn't making any sort of earth shattering revelation to them; he was basically just telling them how science works. They knew of a single chemical being stolen that could be combined with virtually anything to make almost anything; which is assuming Godspeed intended to combine it with anything. And yes, Nora worked it all out solely by watching the video in the Flash Museum about the different types of lightning; which had impossible footage of the one woman who disintegrated after using Velocity-9 and also apparently establishes that it's common knowledge at that point in the future that there's an artificial substance that can produce speed powers. Not only that, Nora knows the chemical composition of V9 off the top of her head; that once she makes the V9 connection, she's able to put together that the chemicals stolen so far are ingredients in it and what Godspeed needed next to complete a stable version of it. They've seriously muddled the time traveling, which isn't remotely a shock. The entire Arrowverse team of writers are the absolute worst when it comes to writing about time travel; even though they have a show about time travel and heavily use it in another. It's absurd. I hadn't even thought about the implications that all of this went down in a pretty short period of time. Definitely not months, but it seems to be at least a couple of days; so it's kind of ambiguous how it all fits with Thawne and the time he has left. After Lia died, there was time enough for the ME to examine her and find trace DNA and track it down; and for Iris to find out about all of this and come to see Nora at her apartment. That alone would take at least an hour and ostensibly much longer than that. It's kind of disappointing we didn't get to see what the others are up to 30 years later. After an entire season of flash-forwards on Arrow, I was hoping we'd get some inkling of what team Flash is up to in the future. I guess they want to keep some things close to the vest; especially if the rumors that the actor who plays Cisco wants to leave at the end of the season are true. I was mildly amused by how they chose to age Iris. For a second when Iris was initial just a voice on the phone I thought they were, yet again, going the route of making her voice lower and more gravely, like they did with Old Barry in the recording the Legends found, and briefly with old Felicity, as if they all smoke a pack a day for the next 20-30 years. I had wondered if they were going to show her and how they would try to make her look 30 years older. I wasn't the least bit surprised they put streaks of gray in her hair, which is their go to for making people look old on this show and on Arrow. And I get it, people go gray; Joe has gray in his beard. But a lot of people dye their hair as they get older; do you mean to tell me Dinah, Rene and Iris all decide to age gracefully and don't color their hair? The only reason not to have them do that, really, is then it wouldn't look like they had aged as much, except any noticeable wear in the face/skin.

I'm not smart enough to watch this show (or maybe not interested enough). When I watch, I just keep wondering why Thawne is alive again in 2049 and why he looks like Harry again.

This. A little late to replying to this but I have to ask. Did you think they were going to make Nora a villain when Barry sent her back to the future ‘cause I thought it looked like it at that point especially when she went through the Negative Speedforce and I was sorta hoping they wouldn’t ‘cause ‘Arrow’ had just had Oliver’s Sister turn out to be a villain even though she went good at the end before she died and I am still annoyed with how they just got rid of most of the new characters they added in Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl this year ‘cause it doesn’t feel like they meant anything in the long run and it doesn’t sound like the actress who plays Nora is returning anytime soon from one of the interviews I read with her and she said anything is possible and she would like to come back but I think if they have the character to return it will probably be as a baby.
Nora wasn’t the greatest character to appear on a show – that’s for sure but I wouldn’t have minded if they kept her around for another season or two like we all know Nora would have had to return to the future at some point but I feel having another speedster working with Team Flash helps and Barr is going to need all of the help he can get with his disappearance being moved forward, the Reverse Flash being on the loose and Red Death coming. Did you notice how when Barry faced Eobard in the final episode he was heaps harder for Barry to defeat than he was in the first season and it took him and Nora and the entire Team Flash to beat him and he still got away and we were talking about the Reverse Flash a few months ago and how they would have to make him so much more powerful for him to be the main villain of a season again and you said Barry had come a long way and should be able to easily beat him now but he looks more powerful now than he was before.
I still think there is a chance he is the same Reverse Flash from Season 1 and he was never wiped and he pretended to be when Eddie died so he could go somewhere to rest and he has been spending all this time training and making himself more powerful. I think that would be a good twist and it would probably make him the smartest and most powerful villain of Barry’s and maybe it was some type of time remnant and I have been thinking more about it and what about if the version of Reverse Flash we saw that was defeated when Eddie died was a time remnant and the real Reverse Flash hid in the Negative Speed Force? He said if Nora went in there it would have saved her from fading away and if that is what he did at the end of Season One then he would know.

He said if Nora went in there it would have saved her from fading away and if that is what he did at the end of Season One then he would know. I didn't think they were going to turn her into a full villain, I expected it to last more than a single episode though, the thing with killing her off she had to die, that was clear as day imo the moment RF called her Dawn, and for the season to have any real weight she had to die or cease to exist as otherwise wtf? she changed way too much stuff for things not to change imo, though I would have preferred a better explanation, I have said it before but every change Nora made should be reflected in the future changing hat she returned to, but it didn't, imo RF should have given her some tech which unbeknownst to her tethered her to that future, so long as it remained charged no changes she made could effect the future, until she destroys the dagger with the weapon designed by Thawne which can overwrite the tech in her gauntlet thing so he can be set free, before the device runs out of juice have him make a snide comment about she managed to complete the task faster than he expected, which we understand his meaning in a few minutes when her device conks out and she started to be erased now she is no longer protected from the changes unless she embraces the negative speedforce.
My guess is next season will end with Iris announcing she is pregnant, that or after the crossover maybe, and then we'll learn later it's twins, signifying a change from Nora's timeline and why they call them Dawn & Don is because she wont be Nora, so they wont name her that out of respect and to make it easy for people to keep track of as 3 Nora's in one TV family is too many Nora's.
As for RF's power I honestly have no clue because of how they do time travel it makes no sense, my guess is the past versions we saw hadn't tapped into the negative speedforce yet, as otherwise how could Black Flash track him if he wasn't using the speedforce but the negative speedforce? But then they did that stupid thing of tying the red eyes to the negative speedforce which imo is stupid, because ok why did Zoom have black eyes? if RF only now has gained the power for the negative speedforce his speed being heightened makes more sense, as doesn't that basically link his speed with that of the fastest regular speedster? so he would always now be Barry's equal but maybe he can siphon off normal speedforce energy to enhances his own giving him an edge? or simply if he's equal to Barry in raw potential but he is more experienced and refined compared to Barry he would have an advantage, their stats maybe the same but their technique and shit differs which gives Thawne the edge.
But back to Nora I think they needed to get rid of her for Crisis, as otherwise imo too easy an excuse to have her do something heroic to save the day and die to prevent Barry from doing it like in the comics he does, so I also imagine Wally & the other speedsters will either be occupied or incapacitated during Crisis to let Barry stand out more.

Just a question.
The Star Labs building which is shown so much from the outside... is that a real building or computer generated ? If it's real, what's is current purpose ?
Thanks in advance

It's real it BC Place it's a stadium, probably the same place they use for the football stadium in the man in the yellow suit episode or the episode last season where Nora and Barry get mind whammied and fight briefly.
That's the building, the outside entrance and ground level exterior stuff is the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre.
The stadium can be seen in various Arrow episodes also maybe even Supergirl due to the fact they film all those shows in the same place, which when you have 3 shows in 3 "different" cities all airing at the same time but are all filmed in the same city at the same time, a lot of shit gets reused.
