About a year ago, someone recommended a novel to me. It is about androids. The author had a Japanese name, though I believe he now lives in America. And I think it was written sometimes between 1990-2000. That's all I remember. Shoulda written it down!

That's not it. Thanks though. Well, I remember looking up the author on my phone at the time. I know his first few novels were about life in Japan. Then he branched out into other stories, including the robot one. I'm not positive, but I remember his name starting with a K.

Okay,! So I'm now pretty sure the author is Haruki Murakami. Still can't find the novel though but it shouldn't be too hard to track down. I'll look for it a bit later...
