Think they will put Lewis in lap 34 but if he does pit now then he will come ahead of Bottas. Pits on 31 and still keeps the lead - no luck as far as I'm concerned, superb team tactics me thinks. Yeah, I certainly believe Lewis would have come ahead of Bottas anyway but I would have liked if they pitted Lewis in lap 35 and put him on soft.

Oh Max. He did everything so well and had such a good race. Didn't deserve that

Russell spins out - debris - annoying as he was well moving into the points - gutted - FFS.

Russell spins out - debris - annoying as he was well moving into the points - gutted - FFS. There seems to be quite a lot of debris and I hope no unlucky drivers pick a puncture. Totally sad about George. He would have got the point most likely.

7 titles on the spin for Mercs - Hammo wins again.
This is what you sometimes have to defend as regards the charges of Hamilton only being in the best car - just look at how many driver errors were here today. You can count Lewis' on one hand this season...

Well fuck.
Good race for Hamilton, got a bit lucky with the VSC, and Bottas his floor damage, but I think he would have won it anyway. Max and Italy is not a good combo this season. Happy for Ricciardo. What the hell was Russel doing?

Happy for Ricciardo. What the hell was Russel doing? Russel's first major mistake this season that I remember. Albon has another poor race. Really RB needs to find a good driver. Get anyone decent please. May be even Perez if no other team has picked him. Or get Gasly back. Albon not using the car as he should.

Well that was as good as it was going to get around Imola in the dry. It wasn't a good day for Red Bull, Max was driving the wheels off that thing until a tire let go. I now definitely think Albon is out of his depth in that car which is a shame.

FFS Russell and Albon really pissed me off, not as much as Max's tire blowing, but that was crap.
On the "he only wins because he has the best car" argument I've always been of the opinion "Yeah, no shit. But how did he get there and, if there's a better driver available why don't they replace him?"
It's a multi million dollar industry, you don't get a plush ride every year for having a pretty face.
I may be wrong, but I'm guessing most future F1 drivers growing up looked at Aryton Senna, Michael Scumacher and Mika Hakkinen win championships and say "I want to do that." At a guess, the number of young kids who said "Wow, I'd like to race in F1 one day in a mediocre car and maybe win a point here and there when there's crashes ahead of me and I can get the best out of my shit box Arrows vehicle" is relatively small.
Winning races and winning championships is what it's about, and Hamilton's done that more than anybody.

Well, that was a drive to forget by Max, Stroll and Bottas. Hamilton showed why he is a 7 time world champion. He did it in style. Good to see Vettel on the podium again. This track has been a slippery shit show all weekend.
Driver of the day: Hamilton Ballerina of the day: Bottas or Max

First F1 I’ve watched in a long time (the last one had Michael Schumacher driving in it in a back marker like a pensioner). Great drive by Hamilton and Perez, but geez you’ve got to feel bad for that Stroll bloke. He was swanning along, changed tyres and then started going backwards through the field.
Also, aside from the silver livery of Mercedes, the sanguine Ferraris and the almost ubiquitous Red Bull sponsored cars - most of these teams were unrecognisable. Since when has McLaren been orange ?

Mercedes is black though.
McLaren has been orange since 2018 I think, they call it papaya though. I think it has been their official colour since the 60's.

I still remember the McLaren’s that basically looked like packets of Marlboro with wheels.....
I don’t know why I stopped watching F1. In my teens and 20’s I loved it....
