Matt - It would be easier for me if you didn't include any films made after 1970😬
Too many distractions today but they turned out to be some good things for a change: insurance is picking up 80% of my nursing home bills and restored physical therapy. They cut me off exactly a year ago, so it is nice to be covered again. So I won't be living in the red anymore. Had to stop and sign a bunch of papers. Savings will be about $6000 a month, so I may have missed DDC membership today, but it might have been worth it.

Great news Linda! It's more than nice when things go the right way after they've been going the wrong way for a long time mattgarthHad to give up last night but agree with others, that was the toughest I've participated in yet! Tried for a couple of hours and got exactly 1 right answer Thanks for the your hard work and my fun time! Very impressed (as usual) with the other players and big congratz to taran!

shield My theory on the toughness of this one : I have never seen so many halfers and even a three-quarterer in a GG. I think that what made it so really hard was that there are so few occupations for women in movies and so many women worked at the same job. Good thing "mother" was not one of the choices. I was late to the playing field so my hair is still pretty much unpulled-out. That, and mattgarth seems to be very clever and quite devious. Ever notice how much he shares those characteristics with many of the greatest movie villains ?

Totally agree about the halfers. At one point I had 10 answers with one person who was certainly the correct choice , like Hope Emerson as Prison matron, and no pertner in sight. And there were so many actresses with Lllooooong filmographies who had played everything from postal worker to Vice President to serial killer. And Barbara STANWYCK as a classical pianist? Cmon...
But great challenging game Matt

Does that also include Hannibal Lector, Bat ?? Depends on what that "spam for dinner " really is there at Chez Garth. and now that you mention it, have we ever seen you blink ? This really was a tough game. I was surprised to see it still going on after I was away all day. WTG , QM Deluxe !

But great challenging game Matt I had so many halfers going, but what is hard for me is when I can't get past some non-matches. Some pop out at me at once, such as Mary Astor being the Classical Pianist in "The Great Lie," but finding that Bette Davis in "Deception" didn't match up, led me to the Libratian matche. The biggest failure for me was finding the match for US Congresswoman to go with Jean Arthur in "A Foreign Affair." Loretta Young seemed obvious until I realized with her playing a Town Mayer in "Key to the City" there would be another match. When Joan Crawford in "Godbye Ny Famcy" wasn't a match, I was out of options. And I knew Lee Remick had to be one of the Bank Tellers, but no clue as to the other. The tough part is trying not to give away some of the obscure answers you have to others who are more familiar with recent films. I haven't seen a new film for a couple of years, so anything past 2010 is not even on my radar, and most I don't even care about. Maybe there ought to be a single answer match game that might encourage some new blood to give the games a shot. It really has to be frustrating for newcomers to get a foothold here.

Well I notice if you play these games a while Matt strikes a great balance between fairly well known parts and obscure ones. I'm like you, in that most films if this century are not on my list. I don't even know the actors. So anyone who knows them has an edge over me.
Matt very rarely wanders into silent films, non Hollywood films, so you know some things are ruled out. Rollo's games considered everything recorded on celluloid or magnetic tape fair game. Matt likes Oscar nominated films so that sets another useful boundary.
A single answer game might as you say open it up for new players more versed in recent films. But being forced out of your zone a little is part of the attraction. I might now break down and watch a Joan Allen film or an Amy Adams film.

Is Sally Jo getting paid as much as her male co-workers? That may be the reason she's despondent.

For me it's the opposite. Mostly watched newer films and a few classics but recently found a renewed interest in watching more of the oldie goldies. Latest was Here Comes Mr. Jordan (Robert Montgomery, boxer, hint hint)

Why did I go from senior member to Satan? Just because I commented on the game?

Why did I go from senior member to Satan? Just because I commented on the game? I think its because your one post was the 666th post you made. Now that you are on to 667 you have no reason to worry. And even though I won the game, it was a very, very hard game by my estimation (as per the trouble with the literary agent pair)

Whew! I thought the board found me out in a secret sin!
Tarzan you are such a speedy player that hearing you say this was hard is solid confirmation it was a tough obstacle course.
I am always lost in admiration of Matts ability to concoct these games. I adore playing them, like to have different levels of difficulty, but ,though I have tried, I cannot make one up.

Why did I go from senior member to Satan? Just because I commented on the game? If you had been reading Techy Talk 101 you would have been prepared for the event. It freaked me out briefly when it happened. FUNNY !
