I think Falcon will give up his wings and perhaps pass them on, and he will assume Captain America's ground tactical command position.
He has no superpowers as the Falcon, just the tech that enables him to fly and gives him firepower.
So now the shield will take the place of those.
And what he lacks in super-soldier-serum strength, he more than makes up for in character, combat skills, and leadership and teamwork capabilities.

In the MCU he neither has the combat skills nor the leadership skills to prove he's worthy to replace Captain America. To be fair, Bucky hasn't proven he has the leadership skills either, but at least he has the combat skills and physical stats to be Cap.

Bucky is a mass murderer, intentional or not. The guy can't be the face of anything. Sam is way more worthy.

That scene was ridiculously jarring for me. Bucky is Steve's longest friend. He's also a more proven soldier in the field. Definitely has more experience. His fighting style will also allow him to utilize the shield better. Yet for some inexplicable reason Cap gives the shield to Sam? Why? Because the SJWs demanded a black Captain America.

I'm a little confused by this thread. One of the two is a morally upstanding and virtuous soldier similar to Steve himself before he got superpowers, and the other is a freaking Manchurian candidate. I think where you guys saw Bucky being groomed as a replacement, I just saw Steve trying to help a friend.
Bucky becoming the next Captain America would be like Bruce Wayne handing over Batman to Two-Face.

I'm fine with it being Falcon, besides Bucky back in Infinity War clearly liked living a peaceful life. Him being Captain America would just drag him back to the fight he clearly doesn't want to be part of anymore.
