wow! That'd be surprising. I think it's overall success relies on it's reviews and reception. On a side note, I'm not a big comic book fan, but I am/was a fan of the cheesy Linda Carter's WW series in the '70s. This WW has a Captain America: The First Avenger vibe to it, which happens to be one of my favorite comic book movies. Here's hoping that it's good.

Interesting. Given that the movie reportedly has a $120 million production budget, those would be some pretty solid numbers.
Of course, my big concern is whether or not the film manages to be well-received.

Sometimes I think that critics are biased towards DC even if it's a good movie.

"As the first-ever modern female superhero film, that element alone is driving significant interest at this stage."
So Catwoman, Elektra, Tank Girl, Barb Wire, and Supergirl are all non-modern I guess.

Supergirl 1984 Barb Wire? 1996 Tank Girl 1995 Catwoman 2004 Elektra 1996 Only one of them was made less than 20 years ago. So yes. Basically the those films are not very modern, save Catwoman.

Remember like last fall or whatever, that email from an disgruntled ex-employee or whoever said that it was a mess? Forgot about that since nothing else came from it.

WB finally made a smart decision with Patty Jenkins directing this film. Not only is she well respected, but the budget is a major factor here. This will be the first DC film to have a budget under 120 million since 1995 with Batman Forever. If the initial predictions for Wonder Woman opening weekend hold up, it will be a huge success for WB no matter what the reviews are.

Elektra was 2005. Also, movies like Resident Evil, Ghost in the Shell, Underworld, Aeon Flux, Tomb Raider and others have female heroes with super powers and abilities. Also, many of the super hero team movies prominently feature females like Fantastic 4 (2005) and the X-Men movies so I think it is a bit much when the article says "first-ever modern female superhero film".

I'm hoping it tops 100mil opening weekend. Critics are going to bash any D.C. Movie it seems. Hopefully a lead women can hold it down. Pretty excited for a change of pace.
