Decent 'series' altho it feels more like a long movie or a miniseries than an actual series honestly. If you don't think too hard on it it's mostly enjoyable. There are plenty of problems with it, but i found the gory gunfights and decent amount of death made it worth it. Like i says it basically felt like a long movie to me...and i don't really care nor do i intend on watching a season 2 if it ever airs, but this was fine zombie schlock for what it's worth.

I watched episode one expecting to enjoy it, but was shaking my head at so many places. My number one head shake is at the screaming man/woman of oriental race. I honestly couldn't figure out if it was a he or a she, and he/she never stopped going bonkers over literally everything. Then for someone who says they don't know English he/she seemed to understand everything that was said to him/her. I thought the acting was bad and the choices made were even worse than some of those made in TWD. Maybe if I could find a way to switch off my brain it might be worth watching.

Excellent show. Can't wait for (hopefully) season 2. Acting was great as was the writing.

Thanks for the recommendation. Like I need another zombie show, but I will get around to it soon.

Watching it now.
IMDB calls it the prequel series to Z Nation, makes sense since both are produced by The Asylum.

I gave it another try and I liked it more. The boy/girl lessened the screaming a little which was a big help in my being able to enjoy it (though I still don't get how she understands everything they say and they seem to understand everything she says while neither parties know Korean/English). I'll probably watch season 2.

I've only seen the first episode which I enjoyed seeing how society was falling apart.
This is something I wish Fear the Walking Dead did instead of going pre-zombie society to basically zombie world in only a few episodes.

It has that on the ground feel, like you are right there with the characters kinda thing going on.
It's really quiet, so many scenes without words. I liked that, but I could see how it could be frustrating for casual viewers, non-horror fanatics or those unexposed to more experimental artsy-fartsy movies.

I was initially cautious about the first season as it was being sold as linked to the not so great Z Nation. But it was a totally different kettle of fish. I loved it and had to watch the second season straight away (in two sittings...football got in he way in between)
The non-linear narrative, constant change of focus on characters and viewpoints and the lengthy "single takes" helps make this stand out from a lot of zombie fare. It's grim, relentless and everyone is expendable. There is one foot chase that is totally exhausting and crams all the excitement of Netflix's other 2021 zombie production, Army Of The Dead, into 5 minutes or so.
Good stuff

S1 has a lot of good going for it, but becomes increasingly chaotic and falls apart, IMO. S2 is not very good. Action scenes in both seasons are appallingly stupid, clearly the directors have never played paintball, know nothing of firearms, and have definitely never seen war footage. There is a scene in S2 where someone is sniping with a shotgun, with rifle sound effects. The acting is competent. The set design in S2 is reminiscent of latter seasons of Z Nation which had actors running around in warehouses filled with plastic sheeting. The biggest problem is lack of a compelling plot in either season, and lack of character development between mother and daughter.

I started watching S2 and was completely confused as to who was who. I know I have memory problems but the quick jumping around from person to person didn't help. The gunfight was ridiculous and I had no idea who the good guys were and who the bad guys where. I will probably watch another episode and see if it gets better.
