I struggle greatly with this.
So many that are worthy.
But unfortunately we're only allowed 1 Iconic Epic Earth Shattering Game Changer.
Here's mine.
What's yours?
Go!

great choice dude,
I struggle with that scene
I don't condone (nor would I ever) hitting a woman
imagine if you're trying to have a baby - a son - and your wife tells you she aborted the baby
gut wrenching emotional scene
I love when she eventually shows up (is it #1 or #2?) at the end - think it's 1 - before he kills his brother and he shuts the door in her face.

It's 2. Al Pacino and Dianne Keaton's acting in that scene was fuckin outstanding.

I never understood why Pacino didn't get more acknowledgement for his acting in 'Insomnia' with Robin Williams and Hillary Swank.
Tremendous underrated movie.
Aging cop struggles with doing 'right from wrong' - in Alaska solving a murder - it's Robin Williams as his best too and Swank is tremendous as a rookie cop - the scenery / atmosphere / musical score is outstanding

That was a good film. It's been a while since I seen it. I don't know if I could stand living in 24 hours of daylight.

dude,
that scene scarred me - flying monkey and a witch holding somebody hostage?
is Wizard of Oz truly a 'horror movie'?
I feel as if I need to up the ante here and step up my game - so i'll go....

Thought it was brilliant and love Robin Williams in dark roles (see One Hour Photo).
I thought the 24/7 sunlight in Alaska was an outlier so to speak - just and added thorn to Pacino's character for his sins of the past and then struggling with murdering his partner and struggling with himself for wanting to do the right thing - all along - but always struggling if he did make the right choices as a cop - I thought the scene with the hotel clerk was outstanding which delved into both their struggles
The 24/7 sunlight was just a terrific atomospheric outlier to me and the icing on the cake and cherry on top - for him struggling with his inner demons if he did right from wrong.

Audio masterpiece. Visual masterpiece. No dialogue, full cinematic transcendence, & its film transformed the medium.

I've seen One Hour Photo, and I agree Robin Williams does play a psychopath good.
I have to see Insomnia again. I remember liking the movie, but I can't remember all of it.

Is he fleeing from his depression - i.e. surroundings to go kill himself?
what is the meaning of the 2 planets in the back? does it signify his insanity?
