For those familiar with the "Bizarro World" episode of Seinfeld, "The Bizarro Jerry" (season 8, episode 3), anybody know why the 'Bizarro Newman' character was named "Vargas" (I know, I know......why were ANY of the names used that were chosen for the Bizarro World counterparts, "Kevin" for Jerry, "Feldman" for Kramer, "Gene" for George)? All of the other Bizarro World names, however, seem to make some kind of (odd) sense, but the "Vargas" ( Wikipedia has the name as "Vargus", most others have it as "Vargas") name, just doesn't quite jibe (in my opinion). Anybody know why that particular name (or any of the other Bizarro names, for that matter) were chosen ?? SAVE FERRIS

I was always more curious as to why we never saw Bizarro Elaine.

Kevin for Jerry was the one that seems most out of place to me. Gene for George is the only one that made sense really.

I was always more curious as to why we never saw Bizarro Elaine. I think you did. Bizarro Elaine was Elaine, but she didn't realize it soon enough

I thought about it back then as well. I guess that, just like with KRAMER, they chose a last name with the same amount of syllables. Actually, VARGAS has the same number of letters, unlike FELDMAN. Kevin for Jerry was the one that seems most out of place to me. I noticed that too the 1st time I saw the episode... but then I remembered that it wasn't the 1st episode he appeared in. Gene for George is the only one that made sense really. Nah... Using a name that starts with the same 2 letters and ends with the same letter is too on-the-nose.

So you remembered Kevin first appeared in the previous episode from a whole week earlier? WOW!!! Nice detective work my friend. Even in syndication episodes are more often than not shown in order so..... Nah.... Gene was the only one that made sense. The others were too random.

David Mandel, the writer of the episode, worked on Saturday Night Live (1975) the week Bob Saget was hosting. Mandel looked like one of Saget's friends and would therefore call him "Feldman" instead of "Mandel" repeatedly. When Mandel was struggling to come up with a name for Bizarro Kramer (played by Pat Kilbane) he remembered this incident and used Saget's nickname.

I was always more curious as to why we never saw Bizarro Elaine. Bizarro Elaine disappeared the moment she found out about the ballet tickets.
