Personally, I enjoyed Just Go With It (2011). Admittedly, not a great movie, but compared to others of his, I thought it was GREAT !! Anybody else ?? SAVE FERRIS

For the most part I can't stand him, but I will defend "Billy Madison" till the day I die, that one does play up his strengths the most (an immature jackass). To a lesser extent I also like Happy Gilmore. I remember I liked "Waterboy" though if I tried watching it now my opinion has probably greatly diminished.

Happy Gilmore & Punch Drunk Love.
Massive fail on SNL not having one of his Sandler 'relatives' show up in a PDL suit.

Happy Gilmore (1996)I think that movie is THE movie many will remember him for and, most importantly, it's within my Top 88 movies straight up (I re-watched it recently on Apr 30th 2019).
I do like more of his simple comedies though but that one is the clear stand out.
p.s. another movie I think is solid that flies off the radar which is within my Top 2 movies of his straight up... Men, Women & Children (2014) (7.5-8/10) but these kind of movies he's not really known for. but basically... Happy Gilmore (1996) and Men, Women & Children (2014) are the only two movies of his I score a 7/10 or higher.

My early opinions to Adam Sandler movies i saw ranged from awful to appalling . Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Going Overboard and others were for me alarmingly unfunny...but a few years down the road, he's been and been in much better.
Punch Drunk Love, Happy Gilmore, Anger Management, Airheads, I have soft spots for. Don't Mess With The Zohan, although I guess so politically incorrect to some, was so bloody funny. His Mean Machine remake seemed pointless and carbon copy......but overall there's some smashing moments in his career.....and I feel he has some great work to come whether serious or comedic.
Plays a mean guitar as well.

I'd go as far to call "Billy Madison", "Happy Gilmore", and "The Wedding Singer" brilliant.
"Punch Drunk Love" and "Spanglish" are good as well.
Though he gets slammed quite a bit for some of his recent Netflix stuff, I still get a few yucks in them. "The Borowitz Stories" is quite a standout though. He's exceptionally good in that, acting opposite of Dustin Hoffman for most of it. Overall, I think he's more talented than he's typically given credit for.
The clown's musical break in the song from "Billy Madison" is the primary ringtone on my phone. Makes me laugh every GD time I hear it.

He was excellent in Spanglish and Punch Drunk Love as an actor.
The ones I rewatch are Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore.
Okay, and fun are Waterboy and Big Daddy.
The rest are terrible or forgettable. Except the first half of Funny People, hate the parts after he realized he didn't have cancer anymore.
