Was tired last night, wasn't overly paying attention to commentary. Thought Liverpool had no chance.
Drifted off to sleep at 1-0.
Woke up about 3 o'clock, checked the evening's results on flashscores.

On reflection:
Liverpool pressed the Barca defenders for 180 minutes. Both in Spain and again last night at Anfield. A tactic that Barca never adopted. TBH can you really see Messi chasing Robertson up and down the wing? Or Coutinho or Suarez. No. That level of fitness is a bit special
The match in Barca last week was different only inasmuch as the Reds didn't score in Spain where their strikers couldn't get the ball in the net and Messi score from a rebound and a bit of magic for the 3rd. Also, Liverpool played quicker than they sometimes do at home. We get used to seeing Virgil, Matic and the others playing tiki-taka at the back. Not last night, the ball was moved forward as quickly as possible in order to wear out the older defenders, Pique, Alba, and Busquets...
...and it worked

Valverde should be sacked today. Starting Coutinho was unforgivable. Bringing on a defender in Semedo for Coutinho is even more baffling, leaving Barca with basically 2 pure attacking players on the pitch in Surez and Messi - neither of whom are pacey. Man how must Dumbele be feelimng now after squandering 2 sitters last week

The ref had authorized the kick to be taken by any Liverpool player. Arnold saw his opportunity and took it. Fury is correct, it was a moment of inspiration, nothing like "punching from behind".
