Memento - Imagine if Guy Pearce had Dory's memory loss condition. Now put him in the middle of a murder mystery.

Paprika (2006 film)They showed this film, in Japanese with English subtitles, at the science fiction marathon I attend every year. It was so hard to follow at one point I shouted out, "We need subtitles for our subtitles!"

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
Person who never saw it: It's Star Wars. How complicated can this get? Me: Pull up a chair. Everything you thought you knew turned out to be wrong. Where to start? How about with "Midichlorians."

The Brood might be a bit difficult to explain.
"There's this psychotic woman, see, who gives birth to these monsterous children every time she gets very angry."

Pulp Fiction...I actually remember when it was released, the morning radio guy I listened to had seen it at a press screening, and was trying to do this very thing for his audience.

Just about anything directed by Antonioni - the plots aren't exactly complicated, just hard to put into words, as their is so much more to the films than their deceptively slim narratives
