We are having his feast day Mass at St Bernards this evening.
He is the patron saint of alcoholics... So I'm having a few drinks this afternoon in preparation πΊπ·πΈβοΈ

Makes sense. An alcoholic is super prone to drinking and staying up late and getting up late, and being late for work and the next party. The late arrival. Makes perfect sense that he would be the patron saint.

Makes perfect sense that he would be the patron saint. I always think of St Matthias as just an ordinary follower of Jesus who liked a drink himself. After Judas went bad on them, they drew lots... "Matthias, you're the new apostle" "I ain't nothing man, I just like Jesus and a swally" "Well, we drew lots, you're it" "Best of three anyone? Rock paper scissors? Ippy dippy?"
