Bryce Harper is hitting .221. On a plus note, he does walk a lot. If he had any sort of average he'd have a great OBP. www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/harpebr03.shtmlI still predict an injury this season (and many other seasons) and him being one of the biggest busts ever. The owners will never learn.

He’s better than what we had there in 2017, but I said from the beginning that he’s not $330 million better. Whatever, I’ll be in my 60s by the time they’re out from this contract so I’ll be more focused on not pissing and shitting myself.

This is scary to me.

Bryce Harper is one of the most overrated players in MLB IMO. He had the one fantastic season in 2015 but other than that, he’s highly overrated.

As a Braves fan, I am living watching him strikeout all the time for the Phillies. He leads the league in strikeouts. Seriously. Not just the national league, but both leagues.

However, when he's in his 60's he will have more time to worry about being covered in feces and urine as well as his team being incompetent.

Apparently the Phillies/Brewers game Monday or Tuesday night was on ESPN and the ESPN guys were trying to put forth an argument on who you'd rather have between Bryce Harper or Christian Yelich. That ESPN machine trying to keep that hype train for Bryce Harper alive. He got paid so much because he is a recognizable player not because he's the best. Give me 10 Yelich's every single day of the week.

One of the most overrated players of all time. Most of Harper’s hype comes from ESPN blowhards and baseball columnists like Bob Nightengale, who has been administering loving blowjobs to Harper for his entire career.
It was Nightengale who first started with that “Harper is a $400 million man” nonsense two or three years ago, and he repeated it so often that other professional cocksuckers started saying it too, until it became like a prophecy.
Then when actual GMs — who are paid to win games, not suck athlete cock — balked at signing the overhyped diva, Nightengale and his ilk started writing columns about how baseball’s labor system is “broken,” as if these guys are dire financial straits instead of making massive fortunes.
Both Machado and Harper got their $300m + and Trout got the richest contract in history. No one is starving, that’s for sure.
