We Are Family Pirates won the World Series when I was 8 years old. I grew up in Central PA, so they mesmerized me. Tried to be Willie Stargell and use the biggest baseball bat I could. Lets just say, I was a little late on 90% of the pitches thrown to me.

I think he has the longest home runs in half the stadiums he played in. I hated the Pirates of that era but always liked him.

I still remember that year that Willie was a coach for the Braves. No one ever looked more out of place. He should have been wearing a Pirates uniform even though he was coaching for the Braves, simply because he should never wear anythign other than a Pirates uni.
It's like Ted Williams wearing a Rangers uni. Ain't right.
