Saw earlier today, 2019 will be the first time a Bills player has #32 again. Fcuk it, might as well see if one day a better player has it for them.

he coached in Brooklyn for one season I can imagine the rage from Yankee fans if Ruth left the Yanks for the Bums earlier in his career and started playing against them.

he coached in Brooklyn for one season I can imagine the rage from Yankee fans if Ruth left the Yanks for the Bums earlier in his career and started playing against them. Ruth had wanted a managerial job in the worst way after he retired. The Yankees weren't going to sack Joe McCarthy so it had to be elsewhere. Supposedly both the Braves and Dodgers has made promises of a job, at least in the minors. But it always came down to "How can he manage a team when he can't manage himself".
Speaking of the Boston Braves and George Herman...
He was far from his prime by this time.

I have a replica Ruth Braves jersey.

Didn't Jordan play for Washington at the end? Yeah, but Arnold turned against Washington so it all evened out.

Prime with anything other than: Like he said, his heart was with Atlanta but he needed to go elsewhere and win the big one. Rod Tidwell outside:

It's pretty crazy the Bills never retired his number, I'm unclear on why but in the end, I hate OJ with a passion and despite his claims he doesn't care, he absolutely cares so that's good.

This one last year from the recent great Orioles team bothered me more than Markakis. He should be the long time Orioles instead of Chris Davis.

OJ is on the Bills wall of fame, all the names posted inside New Era Field for all to see.

Greg Maddux with the Dodgers That #36 just looks wrong. The #30 with the Padres wasn't too bad but #36 just doesn't look right. John Smoltz with the Cardinals Just makes me want to vomit. Jordy Nelson with the Raiders Makes me sad that he spent 1 year away from Green Bay instead of retiring after last season.

The Bills never retired a number until 2001. They had the "Wall of Fame" in the stadium (OJ was the first to go up) and numbers were taken out of circulation, OJ's #32, Jack Kemp's #15 etc. To this day, there's only three retired numbers, Kelly's #12, Thurman's #34 and Bruce Smith's #78. No Andre Reed (out of circulation, not retired), no Joe DeLamielleure, no Fred Smerlas, no OJ.

Wow, I did not know that. Weird they didn't retire numbers for so long. In the end, they made the right decision.
