What religion/philosophy do you most strongly identify with? How come you only showed the denominations of Christianity, but not of any the other religions?

Well obviously there are more Christians here than Muslims, Hindus or Buddhists. I mean obviously there are plenty of Catholics and Protestants. But there aren't enough Hindus to start listing every Hindu sect. Is there even one Hindu here?

You list needs tweaking. I am still digging your horns.

Oh, goody! I love surveys! Christian, nondenominational. Erjen, quite frankly, in the context of modern American society, nondenominational is most likely Protestant. If you reject Rome and the Pope, you're aligned with Luther and the others who broke with the Catholic Church. Sure, there are Gnostic Christians, but from reading your posts for years, I don't think you are one.

You've got four different kinds of Christianity listed, and I frankly don't identify with any of them.

Here's a good simple critique of it though:

If he still doesn't get it, perhaps this critique will help to straighten him out.

I don't think Aj_June considers himself Hindu. Well, not a religious one, but, in background. Kind of like how atheists brought up in the Jewish faith, still identify with it.

I was baptized Greek Orthodox but don't believe in it. But I still consider myself nominally Greek Orthodox and want an Orthodox priest at my funeral. I'm curious to see AJ's view on it.

I selected "Other"... Even though multiple categories are listed for Christians, none of them fit me. Like Erjen I am a non-denominational Christian. If I fit into one of the "Christian" choices offered I would no longer be non-denominational. I am not a Protestant.

The thing with multiple choice is that there always are separations and groupings not everybody agrees upon.
In Christianity, there is not only Catholic, Protestant Orthodox, nondenominational, other... even Protestants can separate themselves into sects. And in Germany there's the Roman-Catholic Church and the "Altkatholiken" (literally "Old Catholics"; not Protestant, but reject the infaillability of the Pope).
We could even group the religions; Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all Abrahamitic monotheistic religions. Unitarian Universalism and Baha'i are also based on them.
I voted "Atheist/Agnostic", although I consider myself a weak atheist, but not agnostic.

You're correct. Lumping Gnosticism in with the Occult was a mistake. I've seen Mormon theologians claim Mormonism is a form neo-Gnosticism. But the Gnostics were looking into ideas which Rome considered heresies. The Gnostics were mystics. I was trying to offer broad categories as opposed to dividing the whole theme into dozens of smaller sects.
