My own subjective "bests" Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade UHF Batman "Do the Right Thing" best of the '80s? I think we need to think about what other films came out in the '80s before anyone takes that film that far... Do The Right Thing is considered one of the best films of the decade by critics. Whether you personally think it is is beside the point. To show you I am not being biased, I personally don't love it. I don't disagree with you, because I read some of the critical reviews of the film, but I didn't think it was all that great. Again, like you said, its just my opinion. It seems though that from the thread so far it's not a very popular favorite.

I would choose "Other" for Do the Right Thing which is one of Spike Lee's best movies and one that's important for discussing race relations in America.
Other great ones:
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - While Raiders is the best film, Crusade is a close second and my personal favorite installment of the series.
The Abyss - Of course the stuff like the CGI water tentacle are great, but the central love story and Michael Biehn going crazy make it a compelling story as well.
Glory Back to the Future II
Henry V Dead Poets Society
UHF
* I like Lethal Weapon 2 but it does some plot things (retconning the South Africans's involvement in killing Riggs's wife and killing off the love interest to make him suicidal again) that make it inferior to the first for me.

Glory Field of Dreams UHF
Had to Google to find what won the BP Oscar. Driving Miss Daisy/ A little too weighty for me. Or as the moderately funny John Ritter movie Stay Tuned called it Driving Over Miss Daisy (Hell was a TV network)
