Well, it started out like it could be Stallone's Unforgiven, thoughtful and reflective...
and then the uninspired pyrotechnics kicked in.

Maybe another reason this doesn't necessarily feel like a Rambo film is the lack of the Jerry Goldsmith score and themes.

I wonder if Sly will release the official trailer soon, hopefully this week since footage has now been shown. Plus he's been showing behind the scene footage on his Instagram. The movie is 3-4 months away, so at this point, you'd expect at least a teaser trailer.
