I chose Melina Mercouri because of the uninhibited joy and charming recklessness of her character. "Never on Sunday"... because Sunday is the one day she has chosen for loving and singing and eating and drinking and, maybe, falling in love....
I adore Joe Buck in "Midnight Cowboy', but he was not the same kind of presence as MM.

Nancy Allen is pretty underrated in general and especially in "Dressed to Kill", so I picked her.
Wahlberg in "Boogie Nights" was a close second.
That badass little woman in "Total Recall" firing the machine gun is right up there too.
