Will Rafael Nadal win his 12th French Open, becoming the first player, male or female, to win the same Major 12 times? (Margaret Court currently shares his record, having won the Australian Open 11 times)
Will Djokovic finally get his second French crown?
Will Federer go far on his first trip to Paris in four years?
Will Naomi Osaka win her third consecutive Grand Slam tournament?

Interesting one! Federer only won the French Open once, Nadal only won Wimbledon once, Agassi only won the French Open and Wimbledon once, Sampras never won the French.
*** Edit ***
I guess that's counting the Open Era only, as both Rod Laver and Roy Emerson have won all four major titles at least twice.

Oops - Laver won them all twice. He even did it in the same years (1962 and 1969 he won all four)
I should have added the qualifier "in the open ERA".

#1 seed Naomi Osaka survives bizarre first round match. She loses the first set 0-6, manages to win the second on a tie-breaker, and then wins the final set easily 6-1.

I was watching this match last night, she looked completely lost in the first set. Even in the second set when she went up early 3-0, she looked like she was grinding it out and then the short rain delay broke up whatever momentum she had. I missed the last set but I'm guessing Schmiedlova lost focus and/or her resolve after dropping the 2nd set.

I have Sofia Kenin winning ladies and Kyle Edmund rolling over the competition to win his first GS title.

Canadian hope Bianca Andreescu withdraws from her second round match. Not a good tournament for the Canadian contingent, with Raonic and Auger-Aliassime also withdrawing with injuries, and Shapovalov and Eugénie Bouchard losing in the first round.

Put some money on it and you will win a fortune if it happens!

am I living under a rock (or perhaps am still in holiday mode and drank too much )
I always relate The French Open with the kickoff to summer and Memorial Day.
I haven't seen one second of this aired on ESPN or other channels as of yet.......

I wouldn't know about ESPN, but it's definitely getting its normal significant amount of coverage on the sports channels here in Canada.

Worst part about the tennis network is that the early matches aren't broadcast in HD.

Doesn't the US Open still have a contract with the USA Network? My favorite Slam - just remember as a kid late August to Labor Day staying up late as a kid watching tennis at night under the New York lights as school is starting as well as college football and soon pro.
I thought ESPN even aired the Australian Open in January (even though they're odd hours due to time).
I completely forgot this was on as I haven't seen one match.
Will have to check into the Tennis Channel.

I don't know what the status of the contract is, but the US Open has been on USA for the past however many years. The final though, I believe, is on a network, no? I can't recall. Either way, the Australian Open was also on the Tennis Network (or whatever its called) for the first few rounds anyway. From the quarterfinals on, I believe it was on ESPN2. But yeah, check out the Tennis Channel, it's wall-to-wall coverage and due to the time difference, they'll just show the day's matches all evening long. So long as you avoid checking the winners, it's just like watching it live.

Two interesting tidbits about Federer's victory today:
*** Edit ***
Behind Federer in the list of most matches played in Grand Slam tournaments are Djokovic with 308 and Nadal with 293. Among the women, Serena Williams has 380 and Martina Navratilova, 355.
And another one: even though he only won the French Open once, Federer is second on the list of players who won the most matches at Roland Garros, behind Rafael Nadal, of course. He has 68 wins to Nadal's 89 (Djokovic is right behind with 65).

All 10 top seeds on the men's side make it to the last 16. That can't be something that happens very often.
On the women's side, #1 Naomi Osaka lost today, leaving only 4 of the top 10 still in contention.
*** Edit ***
Make that 3 of the top 10. Serena Williams lost to fellow American Sofia Kenin, who wasn't even born when Serena played in her first French Open.
