Mel Gibson wants in on the DCEU? I don't care what he does in his off time. He's good, and that's enough for me. idk if he wants in, but WB wants him and Gibson is giving them the light of day.

Both Gibson & Depp seem to be guys who were pretty solid in their careers who hot some mid-life crisis & messed up. I can't hate either for something they did while unstable. Most people might screw up their personal lives, but entertainers have people eyeballing them all the time so their stupid night or 10 get plastered all over the news.
For a nation (America) where so many claim it to be Christian, there are a hell of a lot of people unwilling to accept the "repent & be forgiven" concept. Gibson claims he's turned that around. On Colbert he said it was a time when he was drinking too much alcohol, but he's stopped that.
How about letting him make that mistake & move on?

I was more disappointed in the fact that they're making a Suicide Squad 2 then I was with Mel Gibson being in talks to direct it. I can usually separate myself from a performers personal life and their performances. Not always but I'm usually able to do so. However the funny thing is, I haven't watched anything that Mel Gibson has been in since What Women Want in 2000. I'm still able to watch the Lethal Weapon franchise and enjoy his performances. I know I wanted to watch Expendables 3 and I heard he was great in it but when I found out Rhonda Rousey was in it I bailed on ever watching it.
In regards to his directing? I've never seen a film he's directed either. I've seen parts of Braveheart over the years but I don't believe I've ever seen the whole thing. Definitely not in one full sitting anyways. So I have no idea what he'd really bring to a sequel. I will say though if Leto's Joker is back they could get anybody they want to direct it, I'm not gonna watch it outside of a bored redbox night or if it's on HBO.

Well the thing is that with Depp is that he has personally and professionally faltered, prior to his recent Amber Heard incidents his career was floundering, critics and movie goers were a bit tired of his performances aside from maybe Jack Sparrow. With Gibson his direction and performances have yet to fall flat. So Gibson has to return in solely public perception, Depp has two things to overcome.

He'd probably bring a brutality, and engaging leads you can connect with. I mean Apocalypto he's directing people who speak a nearly dead language, also those same people are not actors.

I'm a big fan of the road warrior.
I couldnt care any less for SS2. I don't want to see a sequel made. Plenty of better properties to focus on from the DCEU slate.
