Ava DuVernay is still attached as director. How's an ex-CIA officer wind up at DC Comics?

What I want to know is how was he qualified to join the CIA Apparently he joined after 9/11 and worked counterterrorism for seven years.

Weirdraptor's favorite creative decision in the DCEU. I deleted my account over at his forum (it ultimately wasn’t for me), so I have no clue what his response to the news is.

He's not happy they killed off the Greek gods in Wonder Woman. I understand that sentiment, it does seem short-sighted and limits her rogues gallery. Perhaps later down the line they'll just revise that and have others appear. They are gods after all.

I do remember him expressing his annoyance with the killing of the Greek gods on several occasions, but in all honesty, the New Gods have always been more relevant to the DC mythos anyway. Speaking of the New Gods, it would be really cool if they got Ray Porter back to play Darkseid, since the poor guy kind of got screwed over after Snyder left, but I’m not counting on it.

I suspect he'd be CGI like Thanos anyway. But I'd like it if he was portrayed in person just with makeup. The only actor big enough I can think of is Nonso Anozie but I think he's not well known enough outside of Game of Thrones. I think Liam Neeson was the most popular choice on here when it was brought up.

I’ve heard snippets of Ray Porter’s audiobook narrations, and it certainly seems like he was hired because of his voice. Anyway, I don’t think a person in makeup would be able to probably depict how imposing Darkseid is supposed to be, unless they were to get an actor who’s near seven feet tall.

Ex-CIA, but probably just an analyst. A bookworm type. Not a James Bond type.

What I want to know is how was he qualified to join the CIA I am sure he had to fill out an application in triplicate and have a special background investigation performed on him.

And this is terrible news, King is a very hit and miss comic writer who usually starts his stories off strong but stumbles and fails to delivery at the end and has little to no screenwriting experience. Ava DuVernay is also a horrible choice for director the last time she adapted such rich source material of this scale to film was A Wrinkle in Time which was an epic disaster.
