Welcome back to another week of the BEST & WORST edition of 'what movies did you see last week?' thread. For those who haven't been part of it before, basically your hosts (us) posts our weekly movies and you can comment on those and list your movie for the same time frame. We will get back to you on yours and you can talk to other users here about their films. It's a great place to talk about film.

REPEAT MOVIE VIEWING
Licence to Kill (1989, John Glen)
blu ray
The teaming of star Timothy Dalton and director John Glen moves further in the more serious direction they promised with their last effort The Living Daylights (1987). The film is the nastiest and bloodiest of the entire franchise with a rogue Bind out fir revenge against a bunch of well cast villains. At the time this entry in the series broke some international records but the American audience was not ready for such a departure and it did not do as well as prior entries. The film has aged well and the series finally caught up with it's vision when the Daniel Craig era started with Casino Royale (2006).
7.5-8/10
Death Proof (2007, Quentin Tarantino)
blu ray
This is a vastly underrated film and far from his worst. It is a film of two halves with the connection being Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russel). It includes some of the best car chase scenes and car stunt work ever and other than a couple of scenes that are a little dull in the second half is a blast.
7-7.5/10
Rogue One (2016, Gareth Edwards)
blu ray
Some of the narrative and technical problems are easier to forgive after a few rewatches and generally it still has a good amount of star wars magic.
7/10
FIRST TIME DOCUMENTARY VIEWING
My Scientology Movie (2015, John Dower)
tv
There has been quite a few documentaries about the 'Church' of Scientology and this one that sees Louis Theroux document his investigation into what goes on behind the scenes of the infamous Church of Scientology, does not really tell us anything we don't know already. However it does give us a grim reminder of how evil this money sucking con scheme masquerading as a non-profit church is and it has a weird take on how it presents the info that mostly works.

FIRST TIME TV VIEWING
13 Reasons Why (2017) Season One
Netflix
Based on a popular book, the sensation that is 13 Reasons Why is a wonderfully realized 13 episode series that follows a teenage boy, in his quest to uncover the story behind his classmate and crush, in her decision to end her life.
Powerful and moving stuff and very binge worthy.
Highly Recommended
Walking Dead (2017), Season Seven
tv
Another strong season with good character moments.
