Not only was Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal a solid and layered representation of the character, but his motivations were such that you felt a visceral detest that he was getting away with his actions. And yet somehow, you still almost believed he was right. There were times where you had to shake your head and realize he was a terrible human being and yet still you couldn't help but respect the masterful ways in which he publically announced himself, or manipulated the Punisher. His deep backstory, his emotional vulnerability, his supreme tactical manipulation, the display of his power, all of it makes him the most complete and well executed villain in the entire MCU.

Nah. He was boring.
Sorry, Archie.

It's a crying shame that James Gandolfini died beforehand. He was my first choice.

I don't like him that much. I actually prefer Ward.

Yeah he's probably the best MCU villain of them all, him or Loki.

Yeah he's probably the best MCU villain of them all, him or Loki. I thought Iron Monger and Vulture were pretty good.

IMO Kilgrave is the best MCU villain so far, mostly because he's so complex and filled with personality disorders/flaws, such as being a vicious sociopath and spoiled man-child with little to no self-control.
However, he also has a slimy, somewhat endearing charm about him, and something of a genuinely sympathetic backstory to explain (but not excuse) why he is, the way he is.
Additionally, despite being physically weak and quite a coward (a trait I actually really like seeing in characters), his powers make him a terrifying individual to encounter, because he can impose his own will people and control them like living puppets with just a few words.
Other than him I think the best MCU villains includes Vulture, Zemo, Ward, Cottonmouth, Winter Solider, Crossbones, and a few more.

Well the shows are not technically part of the MCU, but they easily have the best villains. Killgrave and Fisk are amazing, but Cottonmouth was also great and Ward, not a traditional villain, was one of the only good things about Iron Fist.

My problem with Fisk is that he seemed a great character but a weak Kingpin. He didn't radiate the kind of power and authority you'd expect from a mob boss like Kingpin. He was too emotional, too mentally brittle.

So they made him socially awkward and stuff to humanize him more.

Just that it ended up being a weak representation of Kingpin as we know the character. I mean, for people not familiar with the character then it made for a good villain on the show... but he was about as Kingpin-ish as Jackman is Wolverine-ish. Some of us were just a bit underwhelmed by his portrayal.

Some of us were just a bit underwhelmed by his portrayal. Well, D'Onofrio said that S1 of DD was just as much an origin for Kingpin as it was for DD. He's in jail all of S2 remaking himself...we'll have to see how S3 goes, especially if it's the "Born Again" storyline.
