I saw the first episode and was unimpressed. The aerial combat scenes and color are quite good. The attempts at comedy are like zany skits on a talk show or maybe the film Biloxi Blues. Yossarian comes across as an average joe whereas the book and movie present him as eccentric if not a little schizzy. I'll try another episode or two.
