www.sfchronicle.com/warriors/article/Report-Warriors-expect-Kevin-Durant-to-return-by-13910412.phpThe Warriors are optimistic Kevin Durant will be back in the NBA Finals, but at this point they still have βno ideaβ when heβll return from a strained right calf, a team source told The Chronicle. Durant has already been ruled out of Sundayβs Game 2 against the Raptors. βKevin is not going to play Sunday,β Warriors coach Steve Kerr said on Friday. βWe have been sort of holding out hope, but I might as well just say it now. Heβs not practicing today. Weβll have a practice tomorrow, but heβs still progressing. Itβs near-impossible for him to play on Sunday.β

I don't think he is coming back, based on what Skip Bayless said.

I think he'll have a solid run, after he's warmed up some in-game. 2nd & 3rd quarters. However, the 1st he'll need to get his shot going to feel great, & the 4th after a month no action, his endurance could be a thing - esp. against the jacked up home Raptors already in 8th gear.
There are some who are wondering if the Raptors should be legit afraid of KD tonight. I have to say no only because had he been truly set & ready, the Warriors surely would've dressed him at Oracle, esp after game 3's loss. This feels more like Kerr hoping a mini-spark of KD for 16-20pts is better than nothing for his squad.

If Durant has a decent game there is a decent chance the Warriors can win tonite in Game 5. if they win Game 5, I would have to think they got a good chance of winning Game 6 at home especially given if they lost that, that would be three HOME loses in a row. so I think if the Raptors don't end it tonite in Game 5 there is a good chance we will see a Game 7 and if it goes 7 games I would have to think the Raptors would be sweating it at that point since the pressure will be back on them to deliver and the Warriors confidence will be going strong if they win these next two games. either way, I want this to go to Game 7

We (Warriors) squeaked that one so we got a decent chance at a game 7 as if they lose game 6, like I was saying in my post above, that will be three home loses in a row. but then again... my guess is Durant is out which surely raises the Raptors chances of winning, if not in Game 6, then when they are back at home in Game 7.

I'm starting to hear that KD has a torn Achilles. It's not 100% confirmed yet, but it's seeming more likely. If true, KD is not just done this year but possibly next as well.

What a mistake by the Warriors to bring him back while it was obvious he wasnt ready to do so.

What a mistake by the Warriors to bring him back while it was obvious he wasnt ready to do so. Agreed, though you have to wonder how much he was pushing to come back. Hard to fault a guy for wanting to play in a championship elimination game. The risks are inherent, as I mentioned earlier. But under these circumstances I understand the decision to play. Sucks that it blew up in his face, it could be the last time you see a player try to 'tough it out' in this league.

Well they apparently completely cleared him to play with no minute restriction so I doubt they would risk him if they did not feel he was pretty much ready to play. although I can see how one might speculate they let him in because it was a elimination game in the NBA finals.
but it was probably just a fluke kind of injury that he happened to get a achilles injury right after coming back after a month of not playing.
