Right so...
My smartphone has USB C, and Bluetooth.
My telly has scart, HDMI, and VGA connectivity.
Can I get some kind of connector thing between the two from Currys or Argos this afternoon... To enable me to 'throw' YouTube from my phone to my TV?
So as I can watch the Champions League final on a bigger screen this evening.

If you have Sky, their package includes access to YouTube. I don't think you do, so that's out and I'm not a tech geek, so I can't help. Sorry

Be careful with them, Ned. I tried that a year ago and they sold me a cable for £15 which didn't work. I took it back and asked them to show me it working in the store. Nowt

Not guaranteeing but Now TV has a YouTube app on it. You can buy their stick for £15 at the moment so that might be the way to go...
Never used it myself though so not sure if BT would have some block against YouTube apps on certain devices.

You should be able to buy a HDMI to USB C adapter cable.

You should be able to buy a HDMI to USB C adapter cable. That's what I'm hoping for, something like that, for the big game this evening ⚽ Be a shame not to watch it on a bigger screen, seeing as BT Sport have made it free on YouTube.

You should be able to buy a HDMI to USB C adapter cable. Thats probably the only way. New tvs, you can just cast from your phone/device on to them and its great One of the best home entertainment updates I did in recent years was watching Youtube on me tv. And then went mental altogether and started watching YT in VR which makes your screen into the biggest screen ever, like going to the pictures But that cable is the answer

Just a phone to telly connector jobby.

Only got my first ever smartphone a couple of weeks ago. Stuck a micro SIM card into it when it should have been a nano one and I can't get it out without taking the phone to bits. So I can't use my phone to make phone calls or use it outside!

That's good to know - might get one to save my usual faffing about with Kodi / pi updates or laptop to telly via the hdmi. Sounds much simpler...

Sounds much simpler... Yeah - HD video too, which I suppose they didn't have to do. I even think you could watch it in 4K on Youtube if you have the bandwidth. Although a Now TV box maxes out at 1080p.

This happened to me. Same phone for years but when bought it distraught to see sim card slot too small for micro sim card already using in old phone. Wanted to keep old number not use new number on new nana card. So trimmed old micro sim around the edges with sharp scissors and it ended up fitting a treat and worked. Next time you take your micro card out you might try trimming it but obviously for crissakes don't molest that gold bit on it. I'm nay advising it because I don't want you coming back at me, but it worked for me.

I saw that in the instructions afterwards!
