I'd ask if this is a joke, but I know the answer already. But hey, we've had a $150 million movie based on the Battleship board game. What's next? A movie about the Rubik's Cube? A movie about Slinky?

Honest to God Hollywood is so afraid to take a risk they will literally make a movie about a damn Magic 8 Ball because it's a FAMILIAR object.
Anything they think can be nostalgic and recognized so it will automatically put some butts in a seat.
Time to pop the titty out tinsel town and venture out of the Nostalgic Baby Crib.

A lot of people here are making fun of this but the saddest thing is Hollywood had become so creatively bankrupt that honestly a horror movie centered around a magic 8 ball is almost genius...sort of.
