I noticed that for Empire but overlooked Jedi. Thanks for reminding me of that obvious fact.

If I had known Roger Ebert rated it 4/4 stars I would have watched it a long time ago.

Not doing them by year anymore? A Clockwork Orange Alien Star Wars Invasion of the Body Snatchers Stalker Suoerman Mad Max Phantasm Westworld Time After Time I didn't think most people around here had seen enough of them from this period. I know this sounds a bit selfish, but if I have only seen one sci-fi movie from some of these years than I am not going to do it year by year. I am not even going to do the 1960's, because I have only seen about 5 sci-fi movies total from that entire decade.

silent running hope you didn't mind the hippy drippy Joan Baez songs - which tend to get knocked for that movie. I do wonder why they went to all the trouble and expense of sending forests into space, when surely they could of built the domes on Earth?. Anyway, definitely a space oddity.

I do wonder why they went to all the trouble and expense of sending forests into space, when surely they could of built the domes on Earth?. Anyway, definitely a space oddity. I actually don't have a problem with the songs. I am confused about why they needed to have the forests in space too, but I just went with it. I like the main themes of the movie, Bruce Dern is very good and I really like those robots. Great space effects too. It reminded me of The Martian and Cast Away in many ways.
