It's funny that LOTR has popped up. I, as a boy who loved reading "The Hobbit", have still yet to make it through a Peter Jackson LOTR movie. Just like the books, the details (while splendid) tire me out. I was in college for "Return of the King." My then-girlfriend asked me to go to it with her. I tried to tell her to invite her friends who were into it, because I was probably going to fall asleep. She insisted. I fell asleep. She was used to punching me in the shoulder when I was being a dick. Bummer for me was that I fell asleep on my shoulder. She went to punch that and nailed me square in the face. She felt terrible and I said it'd be water under the bridge if I got to pick the next home rental (we were living together). I settled on "Robocop" (as it is a legitimately good movie that I thought she'd never have seen otherwise). She enjoyed it, but as a flaboyant reactor to graphic stuff, she elbowed me accidentally during the toxic waste guy's entrance and broke my nose. Our next rental, which I absolutely earned from that, was "What About Bob?" which to this day is still one of my favorite comedies. I sufferred no injuries, thankfully. To each their own. I'd have missed out on a lot of good movies if I relied solely on my own tastes. Your girlfriend was strong as fuck It was a true fluke. She had flailed her arms up at the scary part, and caught me good in the nostrils with her elbow. Death from below.
