I think the false narrative is that the show has been canceled. If you can log into the DC Universe streaming service, you will see that all 10 episodes are scheduled to be released in sequence on a weekly basis for the next 8 Fridays (the first two episodes are available now). No one ever announced nor promised that their would be a season two. The only thing that happened is that the season was shortened from 13 episodes to 10. It is also odd that James Wan, although saying he doesn't understand why the show was canceled on his Instagram account ( http://instagr.am/p/ByeFQAeBq9Y ), still encourages fans to watch all 10 episodes. If the series was canceled, they wouldn't air the show at all, so it really wasn't canceled per se. It just won't get extended to season 2 (nor was that really guaranteed). I don’t think it’s a false narrative that they’re cancelled. That’s like saying Jessica Jones wasn’t cancelled because the third season hasn’t aired yet but is still going up on Netflix this month. Streaming just happens to be different. They already filmed everything and they don’t exactly lose money by putting it online. It’s not like network TV where continuing to air a low rated show costs them money and ads. You can’t replace a time slot with something better on streaming so it just doesn’t make sense not to release the show. But I do think it’s a false narrative that the show was cancelled because of quality, ratings, or behind the scene drama. Or because WB just “doesn’t know” what they’re doing. From everything I’ve read it sounds like they got screwed on the taxes in North Carolina and wouldn’t have been able to keep the quality the same with a slashed budget for any future seasons. Yes, saying that it was cancelled depicts a false narrative. The only thing that was cancelled were the last three episodes of the season. Now, the show did not get picked up for a second season, but for that matter there was no guarantee of that anyway. You can still watch the show on DC Universe. This is not like "Harsh Realm", which was cancelled after three episodes (even though 10 episodes were filmed), nor is it like "Firefly", which was canceled after 11 episode (even though 14 were filmed).

Of course a streaming service is going to air all the episodes of one of their shows. They don’t have to “take it off the air”. They just put the completed product up online. It’s exactly the same thing as the Firefly DVD being released with all 14 episodes on it even though it was cancelled and they didn’t air. Swamp Thing clearly had more seasons planned. They weren’t able to conclude it with any kind of series finale. They weren’t renewed for a final season. They were cancelled. Literally everyone involved in show is referring to it as being cancelled. Could they change their minds and renew it? Sure! But it doesn’t change the fact that it was cancelled. Are you saying that Jessica Jones wasn’t cancelled?

Are you saying that Jessica Jones wasn’t cancelled? Yes, that is the difference. You can't really say the show was canceled per se since it does not follow the Network Television paradigm. I just didn't get picked up for a second season. You can only cancel something that was ordered and, even though the producers might have planned for follow on seasons, that was never promised.

That just seems like you are going a helluva a long way out of your way just to not use the word "cancelled". It got cancelled. It sucks but it's no big deal to refer to it as such.
Most people seem to understand that it was cancelled due to some tax error in North Carolina making the show cost like twice as much as originally planned. It seems to be well-received by anybody who has seen it so it wasn't cancelled for any lack quality reasons. A second season wasn't promised but there was a 3 season plan.
But again, it's being widely reported as "cancelled" by literally everyone but you for some reason lol.

I think its too early to say that its in trouble. But it doesn't help them announcing a cancellation after only one episode. it looks bad.

What are you confused about? Cancelling ONE show doesn't equal your entire streaming service being in trouble. If that were the case Netflix would be six feet under! So I'm confused about what you're confused about...

Has anyone been seeing the Facebook ads for the "Swamp Thing package"? LOL, these people have no idea what they're doing.

My bad, I thought you were talking about the show. Oh, no, the show is done for! it seems that there are some other behind the scenes things that make it a not so profitable enterprise, something about no longer being able to shoot where they were shooting... something like that.

There's a rumor they're actually developing a Teen Titans movie now;took em long enough. Could that affect the web series?

A live-action movie adaptation of The Judas Contract would be cool.

A live-action movie adaptation of The Judas Contract would be cool. It would be cool but wouldn't be the right time to do it, they just released a animated adaptation like last year and are doing it again in YJ right now and there is some speculation they may do it in Titans also...I mean Teen Titans do have more than that 1 storyline right?

I don't think so. They appear to have multiple ongoing universes, no? They have the movies, the CW shows, and the streaming service shows.

I don't think so. They appear to have multiple ongoing universes, no? They have the movies, the CW shows, and the streaming service shows. Which they have denied access of certain characters to based on plans on making a movie about them, this is why Deathstroke, Deadshot, Amanda Waller, Batgirl and some others I think have been pulled from or outright banned from use in the Arrowverse and the DC streaming shows, DC are real weird and fussy with their whole you cannot use this character here because we are going to use them there, oh but you can use this character and do this and that with them we don't mind.
You would hope they wouldn't fuck with an ongoing show just for a potential movie, especiall y when the show simply adds more yes to the IP from a vastly different age group than the only other show doing so in Teen Titans Go, and I mean Christ the CW have been doing the multiverse thing for 4/5 years now it's fine people get it, cast a different actor, give them a slightly different look and no one cares, they get it oh this is movie Flash, this is TV Flash and this is animated Flash no worries tralalalala...what I am saying is I hope DC aren't back to their old idiotic ways, but I wont be surprised if they are sadly.
