As Hemant Mehta writes at The Friendly Atheist: “Another day, another Catholic leader saying something idiotic on Twitter, then doubling down on it.” This time, it’s Father Kevin M. Cusick, a former Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy chaplain corps, telling women to cover up their bodies to avoid offending the delicate sensibilities of men. Those hussies. Next thing you know, they’ll show everyone some ankle. Hubba. Hubba.
To be precise, Cusick (or “Sicky” as his friends call him) Tweeted: “Ladies, a priest I know was forced on Sunday to ask a woman at Mass to cover her shoulders. Please help the priest to protect the purity of the men at holy Mass by choosing to dress modestly. The alternative is awkward for all involved. Thank you.” — Fr. Kevin M. Cusick, LCDR (Ret.)
Actually, Jesus said that if a woman’s shoulders are distracting men from piety then it is on the MEN to fix the situation. I quote Jesus: “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”
If you want to be strictly Biblical about it, if a man looks at a woman’s shoulders in church and thinks, “Sa-a-ay. Check out those clavicles,” he should start clawing his eyes out with his own fingernails.

At least there is some consistency shown in the church's preference to cover things up.

Can women nurse their babies during mass?
Catholics are so spoiled. Mass just lasts an hour. Some of these Protestants spend all Sunday at church.

What is un-decorous about a woman's bare shoulders and/or arms - or legs or the hair on her head?

Can women nurse their babies during mass? Yes... and show their shoulders. Fecking merkins are so puritanical.

My grandma converted to Jehovahs Witness after the church’s lenient reforms made during Vatican II. She would’ve applauded this!

What is un-decorous about a woman's bare shoulders and/or arms - or legs or the hair on her head? What are you, gay? You KNOW that you just get a raging fucking hardon at the site of a woman’s bare shoulder and you just HAVE to instantly start jacking it. Church is for praying, not jacking (unless you’re prepubescent and the Msgr. needs it 😎), so make these cum-guzzling harlots cover up their filthy, shameful shoulders lest they drag all us Adams into sin! Now that you put it that way, I completely understand and apologize to the priest who took that action. It is really embarrassing when I start whacking in the middle of the choir anthem (and I'm in the choir) but God knows it's that bitch's fault. Fr. Cusick knows it and so do Protestant fundies. It was Eve tempted Adam and started the whole thing so all the wimmen have to be controlled by men from now on. Everybody knows that. (P.S. don't tell my wife I wrote any of this or I will be in big trouble.)

Go for a burka while you're at it.
But hey, it's a private club. They can have a dress code if they want to.

While it is on the male to some degree, females are not completely off the hook here either as if they are dressing half naked (or the like) they are basically tempting the males and would be culpable for causing that male to sin should he cross the line into lust (either in thought or action). basically they are responsible to on some level since they are enticing the males to sin as you can only push things so far with dressing immodestly before a good portion of the blame would fall on the female. but say a female is dressing modestly and a male is still lusting after her, then at this point the male is clearly at fault and needs to take steps to avoid lust etc. but like I always say... regular prayer is not optional but required if one is going to grow closer to God. those who rarely or never pray will more easily fall into sin in general than someone who does regularly pray since they will lack the grace to resist and that's especially true of sexual stuff since it's probably our most powerful urge which makes it one of the easiest ways to sin, and potentially sin seriously.
so while I am sure what's immodest will vary a bit from person to person, you can generally get a ball park estimate on what's fairly modest or not as if their butt or breasts are showing (and thereabouts), that's obviously not modest at that point, as it's not difficult to dress half way decently. it's not rocket science.
basically women do need to dress modestly, especially at church if no where else. plus, us males in general will respect females more who don't dress like sluts basically. but I think those who dress a bit slutty at church just don't get it and are likely pretty blind on the situation.
p.s. I know it's possible for males to be immodest to but in general it's more of a female thing. I am sure you get the gist of it.

As others said: What the Catholic said is eerily similar to what some Muslims say to justify the Burka. "Don't tempt men".
Abrahamic religions are a scourge; whether they are version 2.0 (Christianity), 2.1 (Protestantism) or 3.0 (Islam). I'm not too familiar with version 1.0 (Judaism), but at least they have some good comedians.

Honestly... women attend Mass at St Bernards in skintight jeans, skirts and dresses above the knee, and some even wear their hair down.
The Lady giving out Eucharist wafers at morning Mass today was wearing makeup... She might have said "Body of Christ" when she put it in my hands, I don't know 🤔 I was distracted by her feminine ways... Shouldn't she be dressed in a sack with a paper bag over her head 🤨
I just don't know how us men avoid temptation, and keep our lust in check 🤷

It seems Fr Kevin rightly got absolutely spanked on social media for his misogyny.
Instead of backing down and apologising... he went on a Twitter rampage, likening himself to Jesus, and laying in to the LGBT community, and immigrants and Muslims.
His Twitter page has now been deleted, and I expect his job will as well 😅
The Holy See needs to get control of the Catholic Church in the US back from these right wing fundo type nutjobs.
