He's good. Kinda overdirects them sometimes, though.

Sunshine (2007) is in my top 10 favorite films. I have no idea why it isn't more highly regarded. Well eritten, well paced, the cinematography and score are incredible and the acting is top notch. The third act is a bit weaker than the first two, but still enjoyable.

Not an auteur, he directs movies written by others in a meticulous, technically proficient fashion. His films tend to disengage me though, lacking much in the way of bravura. trainspotting is an exception.
So, he's adventurous to a point - by taking on various genres - while also plays it safe and by the manual.
keeper.. trainspotting
above average.. slumdog millionaire, steve jobs
ok.. shallow grave, 28 days later..., millions, sunshine, 127 hours
ho hum.. a life less ordinary, the beach, trance

I would have loved to have seen his "JAMES BOND" Movie.
Supposedly, He wanted the Main Villain in His Bond Movie to be Played by Angelina Jolie and I myself have actually always wanted to see her Play the Main Villain in a James Bond Movie but unfortunately, Boyle left the project due to Creative Differences with the Studio.

I like most of his stuff. Esp Sunshine & 28 Days Later . Funny enough I actually hated Trainspotting (which is widely regarded his best film but I couldn't stand the characters in it).

He's certainly among the most prolific and diverse filmmakers to come out of the 1990's. His filmmaking style is kinetic and unique, he has a good ear for music and has launched many careers. I would say the majority of his movies are rewatchable, but my interest in his movies has wained over the years. Films like Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Slumdog Millionaire and his National Theater Live version of Frankenstein will forever stay in my mind as some of the greatest films of this era, but I just have no desire to ever see Yesterday or rewatch recent stuff like Trainspotting 2, Steve Jobs or Trance.

anthonyrocksYeah, because then there is a good chance he would have had a movie worth re-watching unlike everything else he's done and, like I always say, a movies re-watch factor is where movies are ultimately made or broke. p.s. I have not seen all of his movies but enough of them.
