Public school
In Belgium private schools are virtually non-existent.

I started out in a normal public elementary school, later I was sent to a Christian boarding school.

I attended public schools, through high school, and attended a private University in Oregon. My Dad had attended Catholic schools, up through his first two years of college. WWII interrupted, for a time, and he graduated from a state University. He didn't want his children to attend Catholic schools. I don't know why he felt that way. He displayed no animosity toward the Catholic Church, generally. There were minor criticisms, but nothing that seemed resentful. My Mom wasn't from a religious family, and had always attended public schools ("Gramma" was a public school teacher), so that seemed perfectly normal to my Mom. The ironic ... and "kinda" fun memory ... is that, in early elementary school, I really wanted to attend St. Anne's Of The Sunset. It wasn't a religious motivation/calling. I loved their uniforms. Fashion first! Other friends attended "Notre Dame des Victoires," elementary school. Their uniforms looked as if they were designed by Coco Chanel. (drooling envy) More irony is that they all envied me for getting to wear whatever I wanted, to school.

Private school for my elementary and middle school years (Christian). High school was when I went to a public school for the first time, and it was unfortunately the worst years of my life. During my college years, I started out in a public university, but ultimately transferred and graduated from a Catholic, private university.

Neither! Our "Home-schooling" consisted of rotating among several homes where various parents oversaw our education...with each emphasizing an area he/she knew well; lots of "field trips" included museums or exhibits and semi-organized playground or park events for our physical exercise (some, with similar age kids from other groups like ours). They also helped our "social development" by giving us experiences similar to what we might likely receive had we attended public schools: once a week, a parent would take each of us into the bathroom, beat us up, and take away our lunch money.

Public but I was back in the day (the 1990's) before all of the modern BS/brainwashing kicked in as over the last 10 years, maybe 15-20 years, things are getting too messed up in society and it's that much more important to be taught a solid moral foundation etc instead of going with the flow of the world which is often immoral. so nowadays it's that much more important for kids to attend Catholic school because the public school system is too messed up as they won't be taught proper moral stuff etc in public schools (basically they are taught error instead of truth) as public schools tend to go with whatever it popular and that's not always what's right.
I know no one is perfect but if kids are brainwashed from early on into accepting immorality (and other things bad for society like all of this socialist BS the left promotes), that's going to have a profound negative effect on society in a generation or two etc if they are allowed to succeed... "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction"- Ronald Reagan.
p.s. my sister is considering home schooling her kids as they are in the 5-7 years old range currently (one is in public school at the moment while the other is not in school yet) as from what she's read it's typically better for kids because you can spend more time properly teaching them based on how they learn etc where as in a public school your sort of forced to learn at the rate they set for everyone and not everyone can keep up as some will find it easy and others will fall behind etc and not only that, a lot of what they teach you in school tends to be mostly a waste as a lot of it you quickly forget about etc. hell, when it comes to math for example... I honestly don't even remember how to divide stuff on paper off the top of my head as I tend to either do stuff in my head or use a calculator which I assume is pretty much the norm for people.
