Aliens is the obvious one. "The Predator" also come to mind (the original was a straight up action film that was actually quite tense and atmospheric, this one tried to be a silly action/comedy)

Fast and the Furious from about Part 4 onwards.
First three were mostly about street racing and taking down fairly small time criminal activity. From Part 4 onwards it's straight up action and destruction.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture was a serious-minded science fiction film in the vein of 2001. All of the subsequent films have been more traditional action/adventures more closely aligning with the series.

Like Evil Read, both Nightmare on Elm Street and Final Destination franchises turned into dark comedies after awhile.
The Terminator is borderline horror, T2 on are pure action.
More specifically for Fast/Furious, Five is a heist movie and Six on are spy movies.

Lethal Weapon is a serious action movie, Lethal Weapon 2 onward are more action/comedy.

House II: The Second Story
A pretty damn silly movie compared to the first
And then you have The Curse of the Cat People which was much more fantastical and emotionally charged than the original.
