A bit of a slow start, imo, but more than made up for that later on. An 8 for me.

10/10. Excellent spin off from movie to television and maybe the definitive way it should be done.

I gave season 1 a vote of 9 . Also I agree to what poster shadowrun said - " Excellent spin off from movie to television and maybe the definitive way it should be done. " ( a perfectly put description here about this season too ) . It definitely was a ingenious way to start off this series . Thanks so much merkwuerdigichliebe for your subject post .

i think this is contrary to most but i strongly prefer the first season to the second. the characters and performances stuck with me longer and i found the story much more engaging.
the Whiteout sequence is one the best things i've ever seen on television.

Just finished season 1 and it was incredible. Definitely a 10/10. All episodes were great, but the last two episodes were just something else. The suspense was great and it's one of the few times where I had no idea what to expect during each scene. It almost had a horror-like vibe to it in its suspense building (without stupid jumpscares). I wish people made more movies and tv shows like this.

Just finished the season. Heavily disappointed with how it panned out. The first few episodes where very interesting and set up what looked to be complex characters, but the more the season went on, the more it deteriorated into a standard tv cat and mouse game, tossing away almost all character exploration aside. Martin Freeman's character for example simply turned into a twisty-mustache villain, which was the biggest disappointment. There didn't seem to be any real point to all of it at the end.
Makes me very reluctant to check out the other seasons. 5/10.

10/10. People seem to like season 2 more, but this one is still my favorite for all of the great characters. Lorne Malvo, Freeman's Jerry Lundegaard-esque character, Tollman as the cop, the Key and Peele cameos, etc.
