That's kind of the way I felt about Insurrection. It would've been a decent 2 part episode.

Glad to see some love for Final Frontier & Insurrection. Final Frontier is simply an awful and embarrassing entry in the franchise and Insurrection would make a good two part episode of TNG, but doesn't have the weight story wise to be a motion picture... I disagree, but hey we won't all have the same opinions.

First Contact is my favourite TNG movie, and has a great score, and James Cromwell as Zefram Cochrane, and the borg are the best foes in Star Trek. I liked Insurrection too, but Generations I didn't like much at all, I feel it's furthest from the show in spirit. Scenes like Riker firing on Lursa and B'Etor's defenceless bird of prey and destroying it for no good reason, and this scene featuring a cameo appearance by the guy who played the klingon who befriended Riker in A Matter of Honor, playing the same character. Why? I still like it, but it just feels more like a Hollywood cash-in, it's the most idiotational Star Trek film. The Voyage Home is my favourite film with the TOS cast, I love the fish-out-of-water humour, the 80s San Francisco setting, the weird sequence in which they're thrown back in time, and the save the whales message. Insurrection is the one the majority just don't seem to like, widely considered one of the dullest Star Trek films, but I like it, and I see what it's going for. Fanboys nitpick the story and the fact that a people who are anti-technology have an irrigation system and all that irrelevant idiotational stupididnessy.

Well my picks were the same as most people's. There isn't much of a debate there. I will say that my #4 is Generations. I think it gets a lot of hate, and it's essentially a giant plot hole, but I really enjoy that movie. It has some great character moments and contrary to what most people think, Kirk goes out like a champ. Guy dies stopping a madman from destroying an entire civilization. Also some of the best theme music from the entire franchise during the closing credits.
