He is entitled to his opinion.
He is also entitled to anonymity, lest he receive death threats from the looney bin, as did Bill Maher.

Well the Academy had the option to nominate up to 10 films, but decided that only 8 were qualified. Black Panther was qualified, and First Man was not. Black Panther wasn't qualified. Black Panther was nominated simply because the Academy voters were afraid of being labeled "racists".

Oh, and I bet this guy also hated ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’.

So BlacKKKlansman wasn't qualified either, or Green Book, you racist? Also, ‘Green Book’ actually got worse reviews than ‘Black Panther’, and as a matter of fact, the film is actually at high-70s on RottenTomatoes, so that one has even less excuse.

So BlacKKKlansman wasn't qualified either, or Green Book, you racist? Well according to our departed friend charzhino, who believed any black-majority film was inherently political, the Academy already fulfilled its racial quota for last awards show. Therefore BP was unnecessary and only for ratings. Btw I'm not assassinating his character. Here's his post from the great BP debate.
Jan 22, 2019 at 10:39am charzhino said: "Its ridiculous. I mean BlackKklansman is already in there as a majority black political film, so why the need for BP as well? Only answer is ratings, Oscars had the lowest ratings ever last year and they want to vacuum in the comic genre fans to boost their numbers."

And what charzino wrote is true and accurate.

And what charzino wrote is true and accurate. Then why nominate Green Book as well even though that film has only 78% on RottenTomatoes with 7.23/10 average? You DO know that's one of the worst-reviewed Best Picture nominees in years, right?

Why not come out and say it publicly? Especially if you believe in it?
Why act like a coward?

Why not come out and say it publicly? Especially if you believe in it? Why act like a coward? Because anyone who comes out and publicly says that Black Panther didn't deserve an Oscar nomination is going to be labeled a "racist" and being labeled a "racist" is career-suicide. NBC fired Megyn Kelly for what was perceived to be racist comments. The NBA forced an owner out for making racist comments.

I'm just saying that the even the perception of being a "racist" is career-suicide so that's why the Academy isn't going to publicly say that Black Panther was nominated because of the race card.

Except the person who said that didn't mention any race-related issues regarding Black Panther Best Picture nomination.

And yet, many MCU fans here have defended Shuri's cowardice for running away and begging a male tribal leader to risk his life to fight for her throne.

The unnamed person remains unidentified but he is described as being a director. Anybody wanna play a game and take a guess who it is? I'll go with Ridley Scott.
TEXT:
First Man should have been nominated for Best Picture — it probably came in ninth or tenth — and its visual effects are pretty amazing. I think they were produced more on a stage — with models and old-school stuff — than the other nominees', which relied more on CGI, and I really respect that. There's just no way on earth that I will ever vote for anything with the word Avengers in the title; like a lot of people in the Academy, I don't respect money-grabs.
Gilliam lol.
