on the pages for Man of Steel there was a poster who was kind of obsessed with how much he hated the movie? It seemed like any time someone would post on the board that they liked the film or would say something positive about it, he would post a reply tearing into it, constantly referring to it as Meh of Steel?
I don't remember what his handle was.
Just wondering if that poster is on this board now.
I don't really care about MOS, it's just that he was kind of hilarious in his hatred for the movie.

You know. After I read this post I tried to remember the trolls names on that old board.
I can't remember anyone's name anymore. It's weird. I spent so much time arguing with trolls on IMDb and now I literally can't remember Any of their names.

The JFK board was literally dominated with lone nutters and conspiracy folks. I tried to bring up the merits of some of the acting and the thread was hijacked by those guys. Pretty hilarious actually.

I wandered onto the Observe and Report board once and there was a guy who kept going berserk in multiple threads about how the film was so bad he had to wear his 'retard helmut' [sic] when he watched it. I casually pointed out the irony of using the term 'retard helmut' while spelling a basic word like helmet wrong and he really went off the rails. A user named balboa23 once started saying racist stuff to me on the TDK board. He thought my username was my real name or something (same username I have now), though I still can't figure out exactly what ethnicity he thought I was. He just started babbling about how I must be angry about how his people have treated my people over the years? I informed him that I'm probably the whitest guy you're ever going to meet, but he didn't believe me. So I'm a vaguely ethnic guy pretending to be white, going by a vaguely ethnic username. Ok. Ah, the good old days.

As much time as I have spent on both the old and this board, I very rarely ever think of it when I am away from the computer.

"What would your last meal be?" "Ever want to do it with a smurf? I do!" Etc, etc, etc. And then there just might be one to two topics about the movie per page. "Should Harvey Dent have lived?" "Would you like to see Batman do it with a smurf? I do!"

I miss the convenience of being able to look up something specific to a movie/actor/etc...
I also kind of miss the insanity of some micro-boards...
I remember seeing Jesse Heiman in a bunch of movies. He's a ginger-complexioned, little more to love, guy who seems to pop up as an extra in a ton of movies. I found him on IMDB to see if I was going crazy, or if it was really the same guy each time. Turns out it was. Also turns out that the board on his IMDB page was ridiculously weird.
There was a dialogue between a user called CREGNIS and two others. CREGNIS seemed like he wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen, and was trying to create a Jesse Heiman fan group called "the united" and was saying that the 'group' was already doing lots of great things. Though it was just him talking to his obvious sock accounts, with two random other users throwing gas on the fire. There would be hundreds of posts of dialogue on CREGNIS posts. I even started to look forward to updates it was so strange.
It all peaked with Jesse himself posting on his board asking for the insanity to end.
I didn't post much on the old boards (my handle was The_Whole_Brevity_Thing) and mostly used IMDB as a go-to if I had a very specific question about whatever movie. Or to read about a board about something I was shocked or revolted by (like the dog in "The Fly 2") to see if I was alone and to kind of clink a glass, saying "I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed this!"
I miss the option of going to a specific movie's board. For example, there was a very long thread on the "Aliens" board examining the 'mystery of the half-eaten doughnut', which is seen on a plate as the marines are first exploring the base, looking for survivors. It's right before the first surviving cocooned colonist is found for any fans of the movie. The thread was hundreds of posts about what could have happened so suddenly to make someone abandon a doughnut halfway through. The replies ranged from 'reaching' to sheer absurdity. Just the kind of mindless spitballing I enjoy.

As much time as I have spent on both the old and this board, I very rarely ever think of it when I am away from the computer. I don't think about any boards when I am away from the computer. But when I watch, or am considering watching, a film or tv show and I am looking for info about it, I sometimes think about others who may have seen it or know about it. I found got a lot of useful tips from people on the boards.

There are a few trolls that are kind of unforgettable from the old board.
A couple of notable ones being Blade and Sir_Digby_Chicken_Ceasar. I think they frequented the religion board.
